The foundation piles (Πάσσαλοι Θεμελίωσης) of the huge building for the parking of the trains (Stable Building) are shown. Right and up there is the West Side which was a dump (garbage) area. 120.000 m3 of garbage soil was removed from this side. (The photo was taken from a crane founded at the East Part. )

BUILDING OF THE STABLE OF TRAINS (February 2008)

Reinforced concrete building consisting of three divisions (Eastern, Central and Western) total area of 26.500 m2 (concrete volume 58.293 m3, reinforcement 8.851 tn). The building is founded on 912 piles with total length of 15.500 m, concrete volume 12.820 m3, reinforcement 2.066 tn

Erection of a steel beam at the Repair Building with length 41 m and at 10 m height.

The Repair Building has area 9.600 m2 and an extra floor with offices of 2.000 m2. The steel structure (which is painted with fire resistant paint of 60’) weights 850.000 kg.

Construction of the steel curved Footbridge ( 85 m x 6 m x 3 m), which connects the Operation Support Building with the Repair Building (September 2009)

The Footbridge is supported on 10 elastomeric bearings and weights 59 tn. The support piers have 90 m3 of concrete and 10,2 tn of reinforcement.

Erection of the Train Wash Building of the trains (total weight 80 tn). The steel carrier is supported on a concrete foundation slab (concrete 762 m3 , 103 tn reinforcement) (Νovember 2009)

The cladding of the Train Wash Building consists of fire resistant panels of 60’ with stainless steel internal side. The roof cladding is Kalzip system.
