Μέσα από το ερώτημα: «Πως θα ήταν η Ελλάδα, εάν ήταν ένα σουβενίρ;» και με τρεις εκθέσεις στο ενεργητικό της (μέχρι στιγμής), η σχεδιαστική πλατφόρμα It’s all, oh so souvenir to me! συγκεντρώνει τις προτάσεις 80 και πλέον Ελλήνων σχεδιαστών γύρω από τον επαναπροσδιορισμό και επανασχεδιασμό του Ελληνικού σουβενίρ!Η ιδέα γεννήθηκε το καλοκαίρι του 2013 και από τότε η δουλειά της πλατφόρμας φιλοξενήθηκε σε πολλούς διαφορετικούς χώρους (Ματαλού at home, Gallery Vamiali, Sterna Nisyros Art Residence), ενώ τον περασμένο Μάρτιο (2015) εμπνεύστηκε από τα εκθέματα και φιλοξενήθηκε στο Πωλητήριο του Μουσείου Μπενάκη. Το αποτέλεσμα, δεκάδες ευφάνταστες, πρωτότυπες, ευρηματικές προτάσεις! Μια μεγάλη γκάμα αντικειμένων που προσεγγίζει εκ νέου το σουβενίρ και προβάλλει μέσα από ποικίλα κοινωνικά, πολιτικά και πολιτισμικά θέματα μια νέα ελληνική ταυτότητα και εικόνα.It’s all, oh so souvenir to me! Μια on-going κατάσταση που μεταβάλλεται, εμπλουτίζεται και αλλάζει με την προσθήκη νέων αντικειμένων και νέων σχεδιαστών. Έχοντας πάντα στόχο να παντρέψει το εγχώριο δημιουργικό δυναμικό (τους Έλληνες σχεδιαστές) με τα ντόπια υλικά και τα μέσα παραγωγής, δημιουργώντας μια σειρά από μικρά αντικείμενα, τύπου σουβενίρ, μόνο made in Greece.

What would Greece be, if it was a souvenir? This is the question that brought to-gether more than 80 Greek designers under a platform. The birth of “It’s all, oh so souvenir to me.”The result portrays a line of objects with different utilitarian value, materi-als, ideas and concepts, all with a focus on Greece.Different views, backgrounds, experiences and perspectives come together in an attempt to redefine the design and meaning of the traditional Greek souvenir, overturning the folklore stereotypes and introducing a new Greek identity.The designers use their own design “language”, their own means of expression and Greek materials, in order to create the Greek souvenir. They are inspired by Greece and by the different social, political and cultural issues that they con-sider to define the new, modern Greek identity and image.

The main inspiration behind the project «cross the wall” is the nomadic tribe of sara-katsani. Details from their costumes create simple mono-chrome compositions, turning their patterns into talismans for “good and beauty.” The sarakatsani embroider their symbols in such a manner so as to render them magical and protective - thus making them the dominant elements of their nomadic life.Silkscreen print on natural fabric turning into a long shawl.

Η ομάδα «cross the wall» επιλέγει ως σταθμό τη νομαδική

φυλή των Σαρακατσάνων. Απομονώνει λεπτομέρειες και

δημιουργεί συνθέσεις από γεωμετρικά μοτίβα και φόρμες από τις φορεσιές τους, ενώ η μονοχρωμία προσδίδει μια άλλη ένταση. Μοτίβα – φυλαχτά, για

το “καλό και την ομορφιά”. Καθώς οι Σαρακατσάνες

ξομπλιάζουν σύμβολα μαγικά και προστατευτικά, κυρίαρχα στοιχεία της νομαδικής τους

Super Katerina (aka Sugar Line Productions) is presenting the collection “tribute”. All designs’ materials are actually old, almost vintage souvenirs and are used as a tribute to Athens that keeps on changing. “Memories from this city that some of us haven’t lived but are well aware of their existence… Athens, after all, is the most beautiful city in the world!”

ΤHe ANTIKYTHeRA ePHeBe by evol eyes is five different characters, five different versions of a spe-cific marble bust “efebos”. The prints have been modified with acrylic colours there-fore the initial form changes. “This idea”, says the art-ist, begins from the film “Le mépris” where Godard colours a series of ancient Greeks busts bringing them to life. I borrowed this theme in order to get a sense of how a for-eigner perceives the idea of “Hellenism” and subsequently to intrude with my own modifi-cations of this marble bust. Thus I try to bring “efebos” into a more contemporary con-text questioning matters such as authenticity-morality-in-dustrial process- immortality-death.each work is sold individually

αποτυπώνει τα πάθη, τις χαρές και τις αγωνίες,

μιας κοινωνίας που ξεχνάει εύκολα, που σβήνει τις μνήμες της, όπως σβήνει

και μουντζουρώνει τα συνθήματα και τα γκράφιτι στους δρόμους. Μέσα από

The history of the «soul» of this city from the end of 2009 till the end of 2012. «A three-year period of profound change for the country and extreme cruelty (and also ridicule) during what was essentially wartime for Greece and Athens in general», quotes the pho-tographer Takis Spyropou-los. Through Takis’ photo-graphs, we “remember”, we don’t forget. “I’m not an anarchist”, he says, “I don’t trust chaos, but I do believe in the phrase: “action replaces tears”. Or just like an anonymous wrote on the street, “Just do it”!

The inspiration for my work has come from my love for my Grandma; one of the most important people in my life. She left this world after 92 inspiring years of giving and look-ing after. She had so many doilies so I had to have some. I like so much their patterns and their tex-tures but they are such useless things. I find that by pressing them into clay they get another life, they become part of a use-ful object. My work has been named Granma’s Favor-it to honor the existence of this. Both in Greece and in the UK I feel there is a relevance in the mar-riage that takes place in my work. Tradition and style walk side by side.

Οι αισώπειοι μύθοι με τα διδάγματά τους διακοσμούν φλιτζάνια για τον εσπρέσο. Για να μαθαίνουν οι νέοι και να θυμούνται οι αγουροξυπνημένοι. Οι μύθοι είναι εφαρμοσμένοι στα φλιτζανάκια του καφέ espresso και στα πιατάκια τους.

Aesop is believed to be a slave and story-teller, who has lived in ancient Greece. His fables are applied by We Design on espresso cups/plates. Set of two cups.Printed porcelain. Dishwasher and micro-wave safe.
