Ο Οδοντιατρικός Σύλλογος Λευκωσίας-Κερύνειας διοργανώνει σε συνεργασία με το Eastman Dental Institute εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα με θέμα την Αισθητική Οδοντιατρική.

Το πρόγραμμα του σεμιναρίου φιλοδοξεί να προσφέρει:• Γνώσεις και επιδεξιότητα στην κλινική πράξη στην αισθητική οδοντιατρική

(adhesive and aesthetic dentistry) • Γνώσεις και κατανόηση των σύγχρονων αισθητικών βιοϋλικών. • Βελτίωση της ποιότητας των παρεχόμενων υπηρεσιών και αποκαταστάσεων

στην αισθητική Οδοντιατρική. • Διεύρυνση και κατανόηση των πολλαπλών επιλογών θεραπείας σε

πολύπλοκα αισθητικά περιστατικά.

Το σεμινάριο θα έχει διάρκεια 7 μέρες και θα αποτελείται από θεωρητικό (2 μέρες) και πρακτικό (5 μέρες) μέρος. Οι θέσεις για το πρακτικό έχουν συμπληρωθεί.

Το θεωρητικό μέρος θα είναι στα Ελληνικά και θα πραγματοποιηθεί στην Λευκωσία στο ξενοδοχείο Hilton Park το Σάββατο 17 και Κυριακή 18 Μαΐου.

Το κόστος συμμετοχής θα είναι €130 με προεγγραφή έως τις 10 Μαΐου και €160 με εγγραφή. Παρακαλούνται οι συνάδελφοι που ενδιαφέρονται, να δηλώσουν συμμετοχή στην γραμματέα του Συλλόγου κα Χριστίνα Ρούσσου, στο τηλέφωνο 22819819.

Konstantina Dina Dedi qualified in 1994. She then spent several years in USA for full-time postgraduate specialty training and teaching.

She was awarded a Specialty Degree in Prosthodontics (Fixed, Remov-able and Implant Prosthodontics) in 1997 and an MSc in Oral Biology in 1999 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and a Maxillofacial Pros-thetics and Dental Oncology fellowship degree in 1998 from the University of Texas-Houston MD Anderson. She then completed a one-year dental teaching fellowship at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry USA. She is currently the Director of Aesthetic Dentistry Programmes and a Prin-cipal Clinical Teaching Fellow at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute, where she teaches postgraduates in the fields of prosthodontics, aesthetic and implant dentistry.

Prior to her current appointment, she taught for nine years at the Univer-sity of North Carolina USA as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Prosthodon-tics, Removable Clinics Director and also director of the ITI Implant Prosth-odontic Scholarship Program.

She has presented numerous lectures and continuing education courses in U.S.A., Europe and the Middle East on anterior aesthetics and immedi-ate loading of dental implants.

In 2002 she was awarded the prestigious “Diplomate” status from the American Board of Prosthodontics. (Only recipients of this award are eli-gible to become Programme Directors in Prosthodontic Specialty training Programmes in American Universities).

In 2007 she was presented with an Honorary Visiting Professorship from the State Medical and Pharmaceutical University “Nicolae Testemitsanu” of the Republic of Moldova.

She has been elected a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) and the American College of Prosthodontics (ACP), one of only a few dentists in the UK to have this award. She is a member of the American Dental Society of London (ADSL) and also sits on its executive committee board.

She is the educational director and organiser of two Study Clubs in Lon-don, the ADSL Study Club and the funded ITI London Kings Cross Implant Dentistry Study Club.

Dr. Dedi lectures nationally and internationally on aesthetic and implant dentistry and prosthodontics.

Her main research areas of interest are: Dental Implants Immediate Load-ing and Anterior Implant Aesthetics. She practices in London’s West End focusing on aesthetic restorative dentistry, dental implants, fixed and removable prosthodontics, full-mouth rehabilitation and all-ceramic res-torations, with emphasis on a customized treatment approach for the needs of each patient. She also has a special interest in helping nervous dental patients.

Nikos Mardas qualified in Dentistry at the University of Athens Greece in 1992 and he completed his 3 year training as a specialist in Periodontol-ogy at the Royal Dental College, University of Aarhus, Denmark in 1997. During the same year, he completed his MSc Degree in Periodontology. From September 1997 to September 2000, he was an academic staff member at the Royal Dental College, Department of Periodontology, University of Aarhus, Denmark. In May 2005, he received his PhD degree from the same University following an open public defence of his thesis.

From September 2000 to March 2005 Dr. Mardas worked as a Periodontist in his own privatepractice in Athens Greece and at the same time he was consultant Perio-dontist in another two private practices. During this period he was an ac-tive member of the Hellenic Periodontal Society and he participated in many periodontal and implant workshops while at the same time he was a member of the editorial board of the society annual Journal. In 2005 Dr. Mardas joined the UCL Eastman Dental Institute as a Clinical Lecturer.

Dr. Mardas has expertise in non-surgical and surgical treatment of peri-odontal disease including conventional and regenerative periodontal surgery, alveolar bone augmentation procedures and dental implants alone or in combination with GTR.

His main research areas of interest are:

• Guided Tissue Regeneration. • Periodontal and Bone regeneration with bone grafts and GTR. • Effect of growth factors to bone and periodontal wound healing. • Biology of bone healing.
