1968-1979 Student of Chemistry at the University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Diploma

"very good". During my studies, I received a scholarship from the

National Foundation, Greece.

1972-1973 Military service

1973-1976 Assistant in the Laboratory of Chemical and Industrial Toxicology,

University, where I worked on environmnetal problems.

1976-1979 University of Gottingen, Germany, where I took my Ph.D. degree. I was

specialised in the determination of heavy metals in waters.

1979 I participated in an intensive post-graduate course at the University of

Kassel, Germany (April-September) involving research, teaching,

planning and administration at the University.

1980 Assistant in the Laboratory of Environmental Pollution Control,

University of Thessaloniki.

Summers of Institute of Ecological Chemistry, GSF, Munchen, Germany. Ι worked

1980,1981,1986 in the area of Chemicals in the Environment (GC/MS, HPLC,

9 months Photochemistry, waterchemistry). During my stay at GSF I recei-

in total ved a scholarship from DAAD, Germany.

1980-1985 I worked as a lecturer at the Laboratory of Environmental Pollution

Control, University of Thessaloniki.

1985-1987 Assistant Professor at the same laboratory. I worked on determination of

pollutants in the environment (water, air) and studied their transport

mechanisms.

1987-1989 As a visiting scientist for 18 months at the Joint Research Centre of the

EEC at Ispra, Italy, I worked with the chemical mechanisms for dry

deposition of Ο3/ΝΟ2/SO2 onto forest trees.

Since 6/1989 Αssociate Professor at the above mentioned laboratory at the University

of Thessaloniki.

7/1989-7/1994 Scientific officer in the BCR at DG XII of the EEC.

Since 1/1990 Scientific officer in the Raw Materials and Recycling Programme at DG

XII of the EEC, where I was responsible for the recycling section. I

worked on the evaluation of research reports of the ongoing recycling

projects and on the negotiation of new contracts. I also followed projects

and participated in the planning for the new Recycling Programme 1990-

1992.

Since 10/1992 Scientific officer in the Unit A/5 of DG XII, "Initiatives in the field of

generic technologies". I worked on the review and assessment of

documentation on technology foresight, technology characterization and

identification, contributing to the drafting of discussion papers for

internal and external use.

Since 7/1994 Associated Professor in Environmental Chemistry at the Chemistry

Department of the University of Thessaloniki.

2005-2008 Director in the Laboratory of Environmental pollution control.

Since 12/2008 Professor in Environmental Chemistry at the University of Thessaloniki

Languages Greek, English, German and French.

I have participated in more than 70 national and international congresses

and symposiums and I have published about 75 papers in international

Journals. I have also written 4 books about Environmental Chemistry for

students at the University of Thessaloniki.
