2000 pyridine derivatives pyridine derivatives R 0380 42 - 123 Preparation of Polysubstituted Piperidines via Radical Cyclization. Title compounds are prepared by intramolecular cycloaddition of unstable α-aminoalkyl radicals [generated from (III)] to unactivated double bonds. When an aryl group is attached to the α-aminoalkyl moiety as in compound (IX), [1,2]-aza-Wittig rearrangement occurs as main reaction instead of cyclization.
