This new product is an inviting intermediate for synthesis with such common reagents as or- ganic halides, halogen acids and organic acids. It is a potential stabilizer of plastics and fluid systems, and of in- terest as a reactive intermediate in polymerization reactions. You can open the cycloalkyl ring, if you like, through Arbuzov-type reactions. The phenyl group is re- movable by hydrolysis, giving you neopentyl phosphite.
