Active seatJohn Deere Active Seat with electronic-hydraulic technology and airsuspension provides:

• The smoothest ride in the industry.• Greater operator comfort through reduced fatigue facilitating

the operator to work longer hours.• For operations where operating speeds are not limited by

implements, the John Deere Active Seat can allow for fasteroperating speeds and increases in overall productivity.

But how does it work?

Controlling Active SeatSeat adjustment of Active seats is logical and effective:

Horizontal adjustment is located on the right front of the seat while you findswivel adjustment on the left front of the seat.Seat height and weight adjustments are conveniently located on the leftarmrest (A). Please press lower portion of switch to lower or upper portion toraise the seat.Additionally a ride firmness switch is added (B) to choose one of the threefirmness positions:

Plus (+) providing firmest degree of ride.Minus (-) providing softest ride firmness.Mid position providing medium ride firmness.

The Active Seat uses a hydraulic cylinder that isconnected to a control valve assembly (A).

Electro-hydraulic valves located in the control valveassembly act on inputs from 2 sensors,a position sensor (B) and an accelerometer (C).

Inputs from these 2 sensors control oil flow fromthe tractor to the hydraulic cylinder to reduce thevertical movements of the operator.

Active seat functionThe Active Seat control system minimizes operator movement by sensing vertical inputs and actively positioning thevertical seat movement is reduced:The Active Seat system can isolate the operator from up to 90% of vertical movement as experienced in typical tractoroperations.

The suspension retrofits in 7020, 7030, 8000, 8010, 8020, 8030, 9000, 9020 and 9030 Series WheelTractors and provides operators superior ride quality over conventional air suspensions. Drivers will beable to comfortably operate their equipment at higher ground speeds, increasing productivity andreducing fatigue.

How the Semi-Active Seat Suspension worksThe semi-active suspension contains air suspension components with two important additions - a cylindercontaining Magnetorheological (MR) fluid and a controller. These components electronically dampen theride by exposing the MR fluid to a variable magnetic field around the piston orifice. This changes theviscosity of the fluid and thereby assists the air suspension with dampening.

The suspension also contains new horizontal and lateral isolators that offer significant improvements invibration isolation and end-stop control.

John Deere Semi-Active Seat vs. John Deere Active SeatThe John Deere Active Seat is the premium offering and by far the most superior ride improvement overair suspension technology. The new semi-active seat suspension allows customers with 7020, 7030,8000, 8010, 8020, 8030, 9000, 9020 and 9030 Series Wheel Tractors to significantly improve ride qualityover their existing air suspension but it will not equal the ride quality of the John Deere Active Seat. TheActive Seat has more sophisticated controls that allow for the best ride in the industry while the semi-active suspension gives owners the opportunity to improve ride quality over their air suspension.
