For native speakers of English, difficult to learn vocabulary and structures are normally acquired through repetitive
input and practice rather than focused study. Most learners of English as a second language struggle to advance
because they have not had enough exposure to the target language they need. This talk will demonstrate how
repeated practice with songs and rhythmic chants based on high-frequency chunks of language (collocations) can
form a foundation of accurate and fluent use of English. On top of this foundation, English learners can build
creative and critical thinking skills to achieve their communicative goals.
