• Honorary Osteopathic Service Fraternity• National Objectives:

– To further the science of Osteopathic Medicine and its standards of practice

– To improve the scholastic standing and promote a higher degree of fellowship among its students

– To foster allegiance to the AOA

• Epsilon Corollary:– To demonstrate a sincere commitment to service

within CCOM and the surrounding community.

Membership

• 87 active members– 25 OMS-IV– 36 OMS-III

• Six added in spring and fall admissions pending -new total=42

– 20 OMS-II• Fall admissions pending

• Faculty Advisors– Dr. John Hohner, D.O.– Dr. John Graneto, D.O.

Fall Membership Drive

• Written Applications Reviewed “Blinded”– Three independent reviewers

• Invited to Interview– Interviewed by 2-3 current

SSP members who are not classmates

• Criteria for admission?– Scholastics (min GPA)– Level of Community Service

Involvement– Interest in/Knowledge of SSP

• PADS Clinic Steering Committee – Tracy Bastians – Kelly Brady

• Responsibilities: stocking and staffing clinic every Thursday. As well as organizing student volunteers.

First Year Mentoring

• SSP paired with orientation small groups– 1 mentor per 10-15 MS1 students

Keep in touch with students throughout the year, check in with students as the year progresses

Rotation Speed Dating

• MS 3 and 4s return to campus to share their rotation experiences

• Format allows for small group discussions, rather then panel format

• Annual event
