President’s Report
Year: 2013
Summary:
1) The President presided over 6 meetings of the LVPCA Executive Board (EB) in 2013: Saturday 19 January (retreat), Saturday 20 April, Friday 17 May, Friday 27 September, Friday 25 October, and Friday 22 November (mixer). All regular meetings were held at Penn State Lehigh Valley, beginning at 8:30 am. Attendance was good, and when EB members could not attend, a conference call connection was made, if possible. More than one connection can be established for future meetings.
2) The President provided a message in each of the 2013 Newsletters.
3) The President responded to community and professional inquiries on behalf of LVPCA and directed inquiries to EB committees as necessary.
4) The President and President-Elect met with Becky Reid to address several concerns about the activities for the Administrative Assistant position. These were resolved and brought to the attention of the EB.
5) The President spoke at the Annual Mixer to enlist more involvement in governance by the membership. This resulted in several members volunteering for committee work for 2014.
Goals as Past-President for 2014:
1) Work with the EB to redefine responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant.
2) Work with the EB to identify another person for work in the role of Administrative Assistant
3) Schedule EB meetings and workshops at Penn State Lehigh Valley.
4) Continue to encourage more members to engage in LVPCA governance through committee work.

Year: 2013
Summary:
1. Published 3 Newsletters 2. Generated calls for articles and ads for newsletter. Contributions were made by
members and reviewed by editor. Board members were asked for updates to include in the newsletter.
3. Some improvement with process of compiling and printing the newsletter; however, ongoing problems delayed printing of issues.
4. There is a need for more substantive articles for 2014 newsletters.
Goals as President for 2014:
1) Work with the EB to redefine responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant.
2) Work with the EB to identify another person for work in the role of Administrative Assistant
3) Complete publication of online and paper directories
4) Complete updating of website

5/3/2013- “Becoming Oneself” and It's Applications to Everyday
Psychotherapy- 29 attended
Co-Sponsored 4 workshops on gambling assessment and treatment
with Council on Compulsive Gambling of PA and The Las Vegas
Sands Corporation.
Completed APA application for approval as APA sponsor of
continuing education. Application approved for 5 years with a
number of concerns which were addressed in a formal response to
APA. Goals Accomplished from Previous Year: Completed
application for continued APA CE sponsor approval. New Goals for Upcoming Year: Put titles and appropriate data
from past CE programs on Google site. Clear out old CE program
paperwork as per APA guidelines.Implement CE program
registration procedure change so that CE Chair will now receive
