EASY TO USE ENZYME BREAKER THAT IS SENSITIVE TO EQUIPMENT, RESERVOIR FLUIDS AND THE ENVIRONMENT
Pyrolase cellulase enzyme is a broad spectrum -glycosidase
which can be employed in a variety of industrial applications,
as it operates at broader pH ranges and much higher
temperatures than conventional enzymes.
Pyrolase cellulase excels in the breaking (or hydrolysis) of
linear and cross-linked fluids such as guar gum, derivatized
guar, and carboxymethyl cellulose. Safe to use, Pyrolase
cellulase offers an easily controlled break under a variety
of down-hole conditions. This enzyme product is a direct
replacement for corrosive acids and oxidizers, providing
superior performance with zero environmental impact.

high Science SolutionS for high performance As a pioneer in ethical bio-prospecting
and bio-engineering, Verenium has a
heritage of developing best-in-class enzyme products with an approach grounded in scientifi c excellence.
At the heart of this technology is the ability to discover and extract enzymes from nature that
conventional approaches miss. An example of this is Pyrolase cellulase, which was found in the extreme
environment of a volcanic vent.
Pyrolase cellulase exemplifi es the high standard of Vereniums enzymatic innovations. This enzyme
breaker is renowned for its performance at high temperatures, pH and high salinity conditions
encountered in oil fi eld and gas well fracturing operations. Its selective and specifi c action for the
complete hydrolysis of guar-based fracturing fl uids confi rms its importance in improving viscosity
control in deep and high temperature wells. This means increased extraction and greater production
of oil and gas from existing wells. As a carefully tailored enzyme breaker, Pyrolase cellulase is by its
very nature selective in its action and thereby provides a complete, non-corrosive and environmentally
benign solution to gel-based fracturing jobs. It is high science for high performance to the benefi t of
more effi cient and cleaner processes.

APPLICATIONPyrolase cellulase enzyme is a broad spectrum -glycosidase with activity against guar, hydroxypropyl guar, carboxymethyl hydroxypropyl guar, and carboxymethyl cellulose. Pyrolase cellulase has been designed to cleave the 1,4 beta-linkage in these substrates and it is both endo- and exo-acting, allowing it to effectively reduce the viscosity of guar and derivatized guar solutions.
