Reverse osmosis water treatmentThe supply water is purified to lessthan 15μS to prevent minerals frombeing introduced to the duct and tomaintain hygienic operation.

Control panelIncorporating the latest touch screentechnology, the control panel providesintuitive operation and advancedreporting.

Pump and silver ionisation unit Condair’s patentedHygiene Plus systemtreats the waterwith silver ionisationto actively inhibitmicrobial growththroughout thehumidifier.

Water softener Softened water is required to achieve the required water purity and prolongs the operational lifetime of the RO filters.

By combining spray and evaporativetechnologies, the Condair DL provides alevel of humidity control typically onlyachievable from electric steamhumidifiers but with the low energyconsumption of an adiabatic system.

A ±2%RH control accuracy can bedelivered through the use of multi-stage and fully modulating sprayoutput followed by moistureevaporation from the ceramicevaporative module.

The Condair DL has many anti-microbialfeatures, making it one of the mosthygienic adiabatic humidifiers in the world.

The system has been independentlytested and achieved SGS InstitutFrensenius certification forhygienic operation.

Atomising nozzle gridSpray nozzles initially activate in stagesand then operate with fully modulatingoutput to provide very accuratehumidity control.

Ceramic evaporative unitHas the dual effect of removingdroplets from the airstream andallowing evaporation from its poroussurface, improving humidificationefficiency and minimising drain water.

Variable pressure sprays allow a fully modulating output for extremely close humidity control

The Condair DL offers close humiditycontrol of up to ±2%RH by combiningvariable pressure spray and evaporative technology.

The humidifier’s output is increasedinitially in stages by incrementallyactivating sets of nozzles on the grid.Depending on the size of unit, this canbe from 7 to 31 initial stages of control.Following this initial output, thehumidifier’s pump will increase thewater pressure up to 7 bar across thecomplete nozzle grid, providing fullymodulating control up to full output.

This level of control is not possible witheither in-duct high pressure spray orevaporative humidifiers and is similarto the accuracy of steamhumidification.

Each nozzle can be adjusted to a 15°angle in any direction on the manifold. This reduces wetting on the duct wall, provides a more even mist across theduct, uniform humidification on theevaporative module and a consistenthumidity throughout the airstream.

The ceramic evaporative modulelocated opposite the nozzle grid removes unabsorbed water dropletsfrom the air and prevents wetting

downstream. Moisture not absorbed bythe air in the spray section isevaporated from its surface. Thisresults in improved humidification andefficient water use, with very littlewater going to drain.

Due to its innovative design it causes alower pressure drop than evaporativehumidifiers (40Pa @ 2m/s), reducingthe power consumption of AHU fans.

Silver ionisation of the water inhibits microbial growth throughout the humidification system and the in-duct humidifier section

The Condair DL incorporates manyhygiene features to make it one of themost hygienic in-duct adiabatichumidifiers in the world. The systemhas been independently tested by theSGS Institut Frensenius in Germanyand certified for hygienic operation.Throughout a six month testing periodthe humidifier outperformed theVDI6022 industry standard formicrobial growth, achieving amaximum CFU/ml microbial count 85%less than the recommended limit.

A patented Hygiene Plus featureprovides silver ionisation watertreatment. Silver has a residualsterilising effect and actively inhibitsmicrobial growth throughout the

humidifier. The Hygiene Plus systemdelivers the exact level of disinfectingsilver needed depending on thehumidity output at any time.

Alongside the system operating onpure RO water, flush and drain cyclesensure water cannot remain in supplypipelines or the humidifier itself longenough to stagnate. The system willdrain if left unused for 12 hours andperform a flush cycle wheneverpowered-up.

An optional pipe flushing featureallows water to be drained from thepipework between the RO filter and thecentral pump station.

Reducing operating costs and a building’s carbon footprint

In-duct adiabatic humidifiers can significantly reduce theoperating cost of a building’s humidity control whencompared to traditional electric steam humidifiers.

As moisture is absorbed using heat from the air, rather thanby electrically heating water to create steam, the mainenergy source can be shifted from electricity to gas. Bywarming the air prior to the humidifier with gas-firedheating, the exact same amount of energy is consumed butas gas is much cheaper, the humidification system’s overalloperating cost is reduced.

If it is possible to recover waste heat from the building topre-heat the airstream prior to the humidifier, the energycost of Condair DL humidification is a tiny fraction incomparison to using electric steam humidifiers.

The Condair DL can also be used in the summertime toprovide low energy adiabatic cooling to an air handling unit. For every 1kg of humidity absorbed by the air around 0.68kWof cooling is also delivered. As a single Condair DL canprovide up to 1,000kg/h, the system can supplyapproximately 680kW of adiabatic cooling per hour, whileoperating on around 1kW of electricity.
