EditorialΠολλές φορές προβληματίστηκα πώς να κάνω την καθημερινότητά μου στο σχολείο πιο ενδιαφέρουσα. Πώς να ξεφύγω από τη στεγνή μεταφορά πληροφοριών που τις περισσότερες φορές δεν είχε καν αποδέκτες. Ο,τι και να δοκίμαζα, τον κύριο λόγο τον είχαν πάντα οι μαθητές μου. Στη κοινότυπη ερώτηση “Πώς θάθελες να είναι το σχολείο σου” η απάντηση πάνω-κάτω ήταν πάντα η ίδια. “Σίγουρα όχι όπως είναι τώρα”.

‘Αρα, πρέπει κάτι να κάνουμε να αλλάξει η κατάσταση.

Και έτσι σιγά-σιγά χτίζοντας πάνω στις ιδέες και τις απαιτήσεις των παιδιών, ανοίξαμε τις πόρτες του σχολείου μας, μοιραστήκαμε την καθημερινότητά μας με καθηγητές και μαθητές από διάφορες χώρες της Ευρώπης, χτίσαμε φιλίες, ανταλλάξαμε γνώσεις και ιδέες, γνωρίσαμε, κρατήσαμε και απορρίψαμε.Βλέποντας την ομάδα μας να μεγαλώνει και να ισορροπεί η σχέση ποιότητας και γνώσης αποφασίσαμε, παρά τις δυσκολίες που συνεπάγεται ό,τι “διαφορετικό”, να συνεχίσουμε την πορεία μας σε ένα σχολείο ‘οπου οι μαθητές αναπτύσσουν κριτική σκέψη και ευρηματικότητα, σε ένα σχολείο με ανοιχτούς ορίζοντες.

Many times I asked myself how to make my daily routine at school more interesting, how to get away from the unin-spired (dry) transition of information, which most of the times did not even have recipients. Whatever I tried, my students were always my main concern. In the stereotypical question “How would you like your school to be?” the answer was more or less the same. “Definitely not as it is now!”

Therefore, we must do something to change the situation.

Step by step, building on the students’ ideas and demands, we opened the doors of our school, we shared our routine with teachers and students from various European countries, formed friendships, exchanged knowledge and ideas, we became acquainted of new situations, and we kept many things and rejected some others.Watching our team becoming bigger and bigger and noticing the balance between quality and knowledge, we de-cided, despite the difficulties that can derive from any “different” process, to continue our track towards a school where the students develop critical thinking and imagination, towards a school with open-minded students!

Ας αρχισουν οι αγωνεσ!!!

Athens Olympic Stadium

The programme of the 1st day (20/04/2102) included a day visit to theolympic complex of Athens, where the Olympic games 2004 took place. Our visitors were thrilled to have a guided tour arourd the stadium.And last but not least,the Greek, Dutch and Norwe-gian traditional games tha took place in the surroundings of the stadium, were really the talk of the day!!!

Το πρόγραµµα της 1ης ηµέρας (2ο/ο4/2012) περιλάµβανε επίσκεψη και ξενάγηση στις

εγκαταστάσεις του Ολυµπιακού Σταδίου στην Αθήνα. Οι επισκέπτες µας µε πραγµατική συγκίνηση περιηγήθηκαν στους χώρους όπου διεξήχθησαν οι Ολυµπιακοί Αγώνες του 2004. Τα παιχνίδια που ακολούθησαν ενθουσίασαν µικρούς και µεγάλους.

MYKINAE

“PALAMIDI” fortress

The programm of the 2nd day (21/04/2102) was in fact a trip to History. Our visitors had the opportunity to walk in the ancient town of Μykinae, and get in touch with the great ancient Greek civilization.Then they had free time to wander around the beauti-ful town of Nauplio, the first capital of he Hellenic Nation, and one of the wost beautiful and traditional cities of Greece. This day is for sure a day to remem-ber.

Το πρόγραµµα της 2ης µέρας (21/04/2012) περιλάµβανε ταξίδι στην Ιστορία. Οι επισκέπτες µας είχαν την ευκαιρία να περιηγηθούν στις Μυκήνες και να έρθουν σε επαφή µε έναν από τους ενδοξότερους πολιτισµούς της Παγκόσµιας Ιστορίας. Στη συνέχεια περάσαν λίγες ξέγνοιαστες ώρες στο υπέροχο Ναύπλιο, την πρώτη πρωτεύουσα του Ελληνικού

Έθνους και µία από τις µαγευτικότερες πόλεις της Ελλάδας.Η ηµέρα αυτή θα µείνει αξέχαστη σε όλους.

The 3rd day was dedicated to the Ancient Agora and the “Treasure” which is hidden there. Both students and teachers formed mixed groups and tried to discover the treasure strolling around the monu-ments. And the treasure was proved to be “sweet”.The students kept on walking around the Plaka area and stopped at historical spots where our students, playing the role of tourist guides, offered to our guests valuable historic information. The whole adventure ended with an enjoyable pic-nic under the shade of the trees on Koili odos.

Η τρίτη µέρα (22/04/2012) ήταν αφιερωµένη στην Αρχαία Αγορά και στο θησαυρό που αυτή έκρυβε. Μαθητές και καθηγητές επιδόθηκαν σε ένα κυνήγι θησαυρού, ανάµεσα στα Αρχαία. Και ο θησαυρός ήταν ...γλυκός. Ακολούθησε περιήγηση στην Πλάκα µε µικρές στάσεις, όπου οι Έλληνες µαθητές έδιναν σηµαντικές ιστορικές πληροφορίες. Και τέλος.... .ένα ωραίο πικ-νικ στην Κοίλη οδό που ξεκούρασε µαθητές και καθηγητές.

Water and LiTERATUREΝΕΡΟ ΚΑΙ ΛΟΓΟΤΕΧΝΙΑ

Our visitors walked to school and the programme started. They were asked to complete a “Cultural Knowledge Quiz”, where it was revealed how much they knew about us. The programme continued with an event about “Water in Literature”, where the guests had the opportunity to know Elytis, our Nobel prize poet, and Odysseus, the symbol of the man who fights to the end, till he reaches his goal.Then, the NGO KEAN organised a highly educative and entertaining floor game in our school, the best way to close the day. Η 1η µέρα στο σχολείο (23/04/2012) ήταν ιδιαίτερα ενδιαφέρουσα. Οι επισκέπτες µας, αφού συµπλήρωσαν ένα Κnowledge quiz, παρακολούθησαν στο Αµφιθέατρο του σχολείου µια εκδήλωση µε θέµα "Το Νερό στη Λογοτεχνία ", όπου είχαν την ευκαιρία να γνωρίσουν τον Νοµπελίστα µας Οδυσσέα Ελύτη και τον µυθικό µας ήρωα Οδυσσέα, το παγκόσµιο σύµβολο του ανθρώπου που αγωνίζεται,για να πετύχει το στόχο του. Ακολούθησε ένα επιδαπέδιο παιχνίδι από τη µη Κυβερνητική Οργάνωση ΚΕΑΝ. που κράτησε το ενδιαφέρον των µαθητών αµείωτο.

It was the first day at school and it started in a different way.The official reception of our guests took place at “Palataki”, our city’s cultural centre, where the representative of the Mayor welcomed them and then they were guided in the small museum and the painter Gizi’s room.

The second day at school was devoted to Sciences. Our students, like young scientists, used the school’s labs and made experiments which impressed their guests. They worked on the Water Cycle and depicted their impressions on group paintings.Afterwards, our Norwegian guests made a presenta-tion of a wonderful Norwegian poem on Water and, full of emotions the groups left the school for the Acropolis Museum. The grandeur of the Museum itself along with the inspired guide contributed to another successful day.

Το πρωινό της 24/04/2012 ήταν αφιερωµένο στις επιστήµες. Οι µαθητές µας έγιναν µικροί επιστήµονες και µπήκαν στα εργαστήρια,για να κάνουν πειράµατα. Ακολούθησε ζωγραφική και παρουσίαση λογοτεχνικού κειµένου από την οµάδα των Νορβηγών. Το µεσηµέρι οι αποστολές επισκέφτηκαν το Μουσείο της Ακρόπολης, όπου είχαν την τύχη να ξεναγηθούν από µία έµπειρη και ταλαντούχα ξεναγό στα εκθέµατα του Μουσείου.

SCIENCE IS FUNΜΕΡΑ ΕΠΙΣΤΗΜΗΣ

ΜουΣΕΙΟ ΤΗΣ ΑΚΡΟΠΟΛΗΣ

ACROPOLISMUSEUM

Επειδή Ελλάδα σηµαίνει κέφι και γιορτή, οι Έλληνες γονείς και οι µαθητές οργάνωσαν στο Αµφιθέατρο του σχολείου ένα αποχαιρετιστήριο πάρτυ που είχε τα πάντα. Πλούσιο Ελληνικό φαγητό, µουσική, παιχνίδι, χορό, τραγούδι και καραόκε. Οι φιλοξενούµενοί µας χόρεψαν και αυτοί στο ρυθµό των δηµοτικών και νησιώτικων τραγουδιών, έκαναν καραόκε, τραγούδησαν τραγούδια του τόπου τους και πήραν τα αναµνηστικά δώρα τους. Η βραδιά ήταν πραγµατικά απόλυτα επιτυχηµένη. Εκτός από τη συντονίστρια Α. Αναγνωστάκη, παρευρέθησαν ο διευθυντής του Λυκείου και οι καθηγητές: Ε. Στεφανίδη, Β. Μαυρουλέα, Α. Παπαζανη, Α. Γεωργικοπούλου, Α.Κωνσταντακοπούλου και Δ. Γιοβάννη. Οι καθηγητές των ξένων αντιπροσωπειών ήταν: οι Ολλανδοί Dorth van Dirk, Ellen Eykholt και οι Νορβηγοί Vidar Unnerud & Elisabeth Mortensen. Ειµαστε σίγουροι πως θα έχουν για πάντα στη καρδιά τους την Ελλάδα.

Greece means “kefi” (fun, joy of life), so the Greek students together with their parents organized a fare-well party which had everything. Plethora of Greek and Mediterranean food, music, dancing, singing and of course last but not least Karaoke. Our guests danced Greek folk dances, had fun with karaoke, and sang traditional Norwegian and Hollander songs. Then, they received their gifts from the principle of the school. The night was a major success; our new friends will have Greece in their hearts forever.

“Πραγματικά απόλαυσα τον καιρό, τους Έλληνες,

το σουβλάκι, το Ολυμπιακό στάδιο, το Ναύπλιο,.....τα

πάντα!”

“I really enjoyed the weather, the Greeks, souvlaki, the

Olympic stadium, Nafplio,…..everything!”

“Θά θελα να αλλάξω τις σκάλες-πολύ κουραστικό-, να είχα οργανωμένο χρόνο για ψώνια και επίσκεψη στο λόφο της Ακρόπολης”.“I would like to change the stairs –much tiring-, to

have more organized time for shopping, and visit the Acropolis hill”.

“Θα προτιμούσα να ξανάρθω και να

κολυμπήσω”

“I would prefer to come again and

swim”

Just some thoughts left behind……
