Sri Viswayogi Viswamjee Maharaj utilises every opportunityto impress on one and all the imperative need to ensure that theEarth's climate is not polluted. Swamijee is deeply concerned aboutthe polluting activities of people everywhere in the world. Manynatural calamities that people of the world face, Swamijee asserts,are a direct consequence of the pollution caused to the atmospheresurrounding the earth. He also realises that many diseases are aresult of pollution. The severity of the problem is such that immediateand emergent measures are necessary to reverse the current trendof pollution and for this reason Swamijee has been urging all peopleand leaders of nations to ponder over the problem and takeappropriate action to control, if not eliminate, pollution so that peoplecan lead healthy and peaceful lives.

In the recent years some advanced nations have becomesomewhat complacent about the problem of pollution as somereversal of global warming was of served due to the ice cap coveringNorth Atlantic region began melting and the cold water beingdischarged into oceans. But, "the year (2014) has also broughtnew evidence that human activities are altering the climate in evermore obvious ways - and that the risks of severe impacts rise withevery ton of greenhouse gases emitted into the atmossphere."(DISCOVER - Science for the curious - January/ February 2015issue.). We see an echo of this warning from the scientific worldin the repeated urging of Swamijee, "Awake, Arise and Protect theMother earth from pollution." Swamijee with his abilty to look intothe future foresees the calamitous occurences that may resultfrom unchecked pollution. Storms, heavy rains, unseasonal floods,and even droughts which people are likely to face will resut frompolluting the Earth's atmoshphere, and consequent famines in

some part of the world may be too severe to control. Unfortunatelyhuman activities are not confined only to the atmoshpheresurrounding the earth. Men are unmindfully extending theirdestructive activities to outer space as well. Their hazardousresults are too difficult to foresee. This is not a baseless observationfor, as Gerald Meechi, a sientist with National Center forAtmoshperic Research, in Boulder, Colarado, USA, says, "Climatecahnge is real. Humans are causing most of it." But the only silverlining is that today scientists have better tools to measure thedegree of climatic changes. But what is needed is awaremess ofthe intensity of the problem among the leaders of the world as wellas common people and initiating steps to prevent the atmoshphrefrom being polluted.

Men who are at the helm of affairs of administration in allnations must listen to the sage words of Swamijee and actaccordingly. May mother Earth become free of pollution!
