R1 was disconnected from R2, R3 parallel circuit.

The Ohmmeter is connected to the parallel circuit

only measuring its total resistance.

In this circuit the 800 ohm resistor is connected

back to the parallel circuit and the total resistance

of the whole circuit is measured.
