Due to the printing process the depicted patterns are approximate renderings of the original color.

Desktop printers with flat head or near edge print head – our program of TTR (Thermal Transfer Ribbons) covers the suit-able quality for every type of printer and almost every substrate. TTR from KURZ are ideal for rough and smooth paper as well as a variety of plastic surfaces. According to our foil formulation and the respective data sheets of our raw material suppliers the formulas of most of our TTR are free of heavy metal in accordance with the European standard EN 71, part 3. Based on a large choice of colors they open up almost unlimited creative possibilities. By the way: some of our TTR are approved by ISEGA with view to a statement for direct food contact. Individual Support

KURZ attaches great importance to flexibility. Customized roll designs, individual roll lengths, widths, cores and markings, test runs on various printers and substrates are possible. Our company owned departments for R&D and applications engineering allow us to elaborate on special requests.

Thermal Transfer Ribbon Waste

Our Thermal Transfer Ribbons consists of a carrier material made from polyester foil combined with a thin coating of dry lacquer. The material can be easily disposed of as non-hazardous waste. In the EU it is recommended to be classified under the waste disposal code 120199 in accordance with the European Waste Catalogue. On account of the high heating value of the PET foil by approxi-mately 34,000 kJ/kg it is outstandingly suitable for use as a substi-tute fuel. We therefore recommend the use of an energy recovery system as the ideal means of disposal.

Thermal Transfer Ribbons from KURZ

Wax Ribbons

Wax ribbons belong to the most economic quality group and have been designed especially for applications using low printing energy. They have been developed mainly for paper labels where excellent results are achieved even on rough surfaces.

Premium Ribbons

The formula of premium ribbons is based on wax and resin. They are applied at medium printing energy. Premium ribbons allow accurate and detailed prints on smooth surfaces and are suitable for plastic labels. Compared with wax ribbons the scratch and smudge resistance is much higher.

Resin Ribbons

Resin ribbons have been designed for smooth plastic surfaces and accurate printing results with high durability and are applied at high print-ing energy. They are particularly scratch resistant, smudge resistant and also resistant against gasoline, ethanol and some solvents.

Near Edge Ribbons

Near Edge ribbons are applied at a very high speed of printing. They are designed to give very good printing results on smooth paper, a variety of synthetic labels and in-line packaging material.

Resin Ribbon for Textile Application TTR K 601 is developed for printing on care labels that are made of nylon tafetta, polyester satin, tyvek and other various types of satin. With high washability and superiorresistance to dry cleaning, sweat, heat and abrasion.

Thermal Transfer Ribbons from KURZ will be cut to fit your indi-vidual requirements. To ensure immediate processing please supply the following information:

• desired TTR quality• color• order quantity• dimensions• printers used

Feel free to inquire for our check list which may serve as guideline for your order.

Cutting to size

Our production width and your desired roll width result in the respective packaging units. For that reason the quantity of delivered rolls may vary up to ± 10 %.

Apart from a few exceptions the minimum width for ribbons for a Near Edge Printer is 25 mm, for ribbons for a Flat Head Printer 30 mm. Lengths up to 1,200 m are possible. Lengths more than 1,200 m on request

Minimum ordering quantity

We accept minimum orders of 50 rolls (black) and 25 rolls (other colors).

Storage conditions

• Storage Period: one year from the date of invoice

• Storage temperature: 10°– 35°C

• Humidity: 30 % – 80 %, without precipitation

• No exposure to direct solar radiation

• No increase pressure on ribbon layers
