Τ YZOR is also highly effective in catalysis and surface modification.
Du Ponts family of Τ YZOR® organic titanates ranges from highly reactive alkyl titanates to more stable chelates, miscible with water and organic solvents. Depending on your needs, each can lead to improved properties in many ways.
For example, in crosslinking synthetic polymers via active hydrogens, TYZOR® imparts highly desirable characteristics, including improved hardness, solvent resistance, and electrical properties such as thermal stability and heat shock.
As a carboxylic esterification catalyst, TYZOR® has created high yields of esters with good color and odor and minimal undesirable side effects. Also, TYZOR® has proved effective as an olefin polymerization catalyst and as a surface modifier.
This computer-generated display of a tri-ethanolamine titanate was developed by Du Pont research using X-ray crystallography and color molecular graphics. For clarity, hydrogens have been omitted and carbon radii reduced by half.
