2 Safety

2.1 Intended UseThe SMA Com Gateway is a media and protocol converter that integrates PV systems andcomponents connected with each other via RS485 into the SMA Speedwire network.In connection with a SMA data logger, the SMA Com Gateway must be operated with Speedwire(e.g. SMA Cluster Controller). The system data of all detected RS485 devices is forwarded fromSMA Com Gateway via Speedwire to the SMA data logger. At the same time, the SMA ComGateway supports communication with up to 50 RS485 devices.The USB interface of the SMA Com Gateway may only be used for firmware updates.The product is designed for indoor use only.

Damage to the product due to moistureThe product is not splash-proof (IP20). Moisture can penetrate the product and damage it.

• Only use the product in a dry, indoor environment.

Damage to the product due to condensationIf the product is moved from a cold environment to a warm environment, condensation may formin the product.

2 Sicherheit

2.1 Bestimmungsgemäße VerwendungDas SMA Com Gateway ist ein Medien- und Protokollkonverter, der über RS485 miteinanderverbundene PV-Anlagenteile und -Systeme in das SMA Speedwire Netzwerk integriert.Das SMA Com Gateway muss in Verbindung mit einem SMA Datenlogger mit Speedwire (z. B.SMA Cluster Controller) betrieben werden. Die Systemdaten aller erfassten RS485-Geräte werdenvom SMA Com Gateway über Speedwire an den SMA Datenlogger weitergeleitet. Dabeiunterstützt das SMA Com Gateway die Kommunikation mit bis zu 50 RS485-Geräten.

2.1 Použití v souladu s určenímSMA Com Gateway je media konvertor a převodník protokolů, který je prostřednictvímfotovoltaických dílů a systémů navzájem propojených pomocí RS485 integrován do sítě SMASpeedwire.Brána SMA Com Gateway musí být provozována ve spojení s dataloggerem SMA se Speedwire(např. SMA Cluster Controller). Levensgevaar door elektrische schokBij werkzaamheden aan het voedingscircuit kunnen in geval van storing gevaarlijke spanningenop het product komen te staan.

• Waarborg bij voedingseenheden met vaste aansluiting, dat er een scheidingsinrichting(bijv. leidingbeveiligingsschakelaar) buiten de voedingseenheid voorhanden is.

• Waarborg bij voedingseenheden met stekker, dat het stopcontact voor de voedingseenheidzich in de buurt van de voedingseenheid bevindt.

2.1 Utilização previstaO SMA Com Gateway é um conversor de meios e protocolos que integra à rede SMA Speedwiresistemas e secções de instalações fotovoltaicas que estão ligados entre si através de RS485.O SMA Com Gateway tem de ser operado com Speedwire em conjunto com um dispositivo deregisto de dados SMA (p. ex. SMA Cluster Controller). Os dados do sistema de todos osaparelhos RS485 abrangidos são encaminhados do SMA Com Gateway para o dispositivo deregisto de dados SMA através de Speedwire. Neste processo, o SMA Com Gateway permite acomunicação com até 50 aparelhos RS485.
