•        Prior to event, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Minister of State, Skill Development &Entrepreneurship and Parliamentary Affairs also visited the PMKVY Skill Center inArrah, Bihar

New Delhi: R.K Singh, M.P from Arrah, inaugurated one of the first MultiSkill DevelopmentCentres at Arrah in Bihar. Also present on the occasion were, Amrender Pratap, MLA from Arrahand Sanjay Singh Tiger, MLA from Sandesh. Prior to the inauguration, the center was graced bythe presence of Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Minister of State, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship andParliamentary Affairs.

Additionally, two other centres were launched at Ekma and Chhapra. The Ekma Center wasinaugurated by Janardan Singh, MP from Maharajganj and Brijesh Kumar Raman, VicePresident BJP.

Centum Learning has partnered with the Ministry of Skills and Entrepreneurship to launch thesecentres under the Pradhan MantriKaushalVikasYojana (PMKVY) scheme. The PMKVY, a flagshipoutcomebased skill training scheme, aims to impart employabilitylinked skilling to 24 lakhyouth across India. As the largest partner of NSDC, Centum Learning is playing a pivotal role inenabling and mobilizing a large number of Indian youth to take up outcomebased skill training,gain employable skills and earn their livelihood.

The launch of these multiple skilling centres across Bihar is part of a special Independence Dayinitiative by Centum Learning to highlight the significance of skills training and how it will playa critical role in providing independence from unemployment. According to census data,workforce of the future will be from states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh making it imperativethat youth power be harnessed for accelerated social and economic growth.

The MultiSkill Centres will offer courses for Sales Associates, Computer Operators, Beauticians,Hair Stylists, Medical Sales representatives, Mobile Repair Engineers, HelperPlumber, HelperElectricians, Sewing Machine Operators, HelperMason/Barbender, PainterDecorator. Eachcentre has seven class rooms to conduct skilling courses in Retail, Construction, Electrical,Apparel and Medical Sales. Additionally, there are five labs. Nearly 18130 number of skilledworkers are expected to be trained in a year’s time. All skilling programmes are being donebasis the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) and industryled standards. Under thescheme, a monetary reward will be given to trainees with third party assessment bodiesconducting post assessment and certification.

On the occasion, Sanjeev Duggal, CEO & Director, Centum Learning said, “India can becomethe human resources capital of the world if we implement Skilling India vision on a war footing.Innovative collaborations between Government and Corporates is sure to aggressively advanceNational Skills movement and the startup ecosystem, thereby unleashing the untappedpotential throughout the country. We have carefully chosen Bihar to start our skilling drive fromour multi skill centres keeping in mind the demographic dividend it enjoys over other states.”

Centum Learning has aggressively taken up the cause of mobilizing underprivileged youth inskills training following the launch of a unique mobile massoutreach programme by UnionMinister for Communications & Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad and Minister ofState, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Pratap Rudy nearlytwo months back. In less than a week of launch, over 40,000 candidates across 38 districts inBihar have shown interest in various skilling programmes.

IAS enrollments on an average, need immediate attention via provision of better employmentopportunities and harnessing youth power. Bihar enjoys a greater demographic dividendcompared with other Indian states largely due to a higher percentage of youth population.

Recognizing this, Centum Learning is organizing ‘Skills Melas’ across Bihar to sensitize andmobilize youth to enroll in various courses offered under PMKVY scheme at Centum Skillcentres. At these Melas, youngsters are provided details of various courses, availableopportunities and counselled on how to become employable and earn livelihood.
