Brothers it’s RECLAMATION TIME! Brothers as you know there are thousands of brothers in the DMV area that are not financial or without a chapter. Let’s reclaim these brothers and bring them back into the fold. Let’s show them what Mu Lambda Chapter has to offer. As the reclamation chair, I have been charged to reach out to our visiting brothers and help reconnect our non-financial chapter brothers. Below are a few ideas I plan to implement: •  Follow up with visiting brothers after they come to the meetings. •  Acknowledge new financial brothers publicly at each chapter meeting. •  New brothers will received a chapter pin and Mu Lambda Chapter certificate of

appreciation for joining the chapter. •  Invite brothers to all of our events. •  Have reclamation events at the chapter house and in the city. •  Ask current brothers to invite their line brothers to chapter meetings and encourage

them to join the chapter and committees. •  Ask committee chairmen to reach out to brothers monthly to join their committees.   Reclaiming brothers are not limited to these ideas. We welcome ideas from the brotherhood. For your convenience, our dues structure is below.

For the Good of the Mu Lambda Community House

Mu Lambda Torch November 2014 page 24

Mu Lambda is a volunteer organization.  Many times brothers forget the house requires upkeep and maintenance.  The dues brothers pay assist the foundation with meeting the monthly obligations of the mortgage.  Some brothers have gone above and beyond the dues and deserve honorable mention.   •  Brothers Lloyd McGriff, Kerry Pearson, and Wiley Bowling paid to have

the yard landscaped and the mandatory brick work done to the house. •  Brother Lloyd McGriff also had the Beta line of 1983 donate $1,000

towards other repairs in the house. •  Brother Gerard Williams maintained the yard without reimbursement. •  Brother Gilbert Douglass donated $350 to have a window replaced in the

house. •  Brother James Wilson had the Beta Chapter Alumni Association donate

$350 to have a window replaced in the house. •  Brother Frederick Ford (Omega Chapter) donated $45,000, which assisted

with major renovations to the house. Several windows in the house need replacing.  Would you consider donating $350 to have a window replaced?  Each replaced window will have an engraved plate bearing the name of the contributor(s). For more information, or to donate a replacement window for the Mu Lambda Community House, please contact [email protected].
