1. Description

1.1 Intended purpose

The SilverCrest yoghurt maker SJB15B1 issuitable for making yoghurt. The preparationof other foods is not permissible.Only use the yoghurt maker indoors, neveroutside.This product is intended for use in privatehouseholds and is not suitable forcommercial purposes.The appliance is likewise suitable for: use in staff kitchens in shops, offices and

other commercial areas, use in agricultural settings, customers in hotels, motels and other

accommodations, bed-and-breakfast establishments.

Use the appliance only for the purposedescribed (see 1.1 Intended purposeon page 3).

on the appliance) is compatible withyour mains voltage.

This appliance is not intended for use bypersons (including children) withreduced physical, sensory or mentalcapabilities or lack of experience and/or lack of knowledge, unless eithersupervised by a person responsible fortheir safety or given instructions on theuse of the appliance by such a person.Children should be supervised to ensurethey do not play with the appliance.

Please note that any claim under thewarranty or for liability will be invalid ifaccessories are used that are notrecommended in these user instructions,or if original spare parts are not used forrepairs. To ensure you can intervene promptly ifa fault occurs, never leave the applianceunsupervised during operation.

Check that the power socket is easilyaccessible since the appliance does nothave an On/Off switch.

4.3 Protection against electric shock

Warning! The following safetyinformation is intended to protectyou against electric shock.

The appliance must not under anycircumstances be used if it is damaged.Have the device repaired in such casesby a qualified specialist. The contactdata can be found in Service Centreauf Seite 10.

If the mains cable for this appliance isdamaged, it must be replaced by themanufacturer or a person with similarqualifications in order to avoid ahazard.

Water or other liquids must never beallowed to enter the appliance. For thisreason: never use it outdoors never immerse it in liquids never place liquid-filled objects, e.g.

pans, on the appliance never use in very humid environments.If liquid should enter the appliance,unplug the mains plug immediately andhave the appliance repaired by aqualified technician. The contact datacan be found in Service Centre aufSeite 10.

Avoid using extension cables. Anextension cable may only be used undervery specific conditions:

the extension cable must be suitablefor the current rating of the appliance;

the extension cable must be routedacross surfaces or the floor (notallowed to hang in mid air); ensurethe cable is out of the reach ofchildren and does not pose a trippinghazard;

never use a damaged extensioncable;

do not connect any other appliancesto the mains socket as this couldoverload the mains supply (do not usemulti-sockets).

The appliance must not be operatedwith an external time switch or separateremote control system, such as a wirelessremote control socket.

Do not touch the appliance, the mainscable or the mains plug with wet hands.

Always unplug the mains cable bypulling out the plug. Never pull on thecable to remove the plug.

Never carry the appliance by the mainscable.

Ensure that the mains cable is not kinked,twisted or crushed.

Fully unwind the mains cable during useto avoid overheating and scorching.

Keep the mains cable away from hotsurfaces, such as cooker hotplates.

If you are not going to use the appliancefor a while, remove the plug from thewall socket. This is the only way toensure that the machine is completelyfree of current.

4.4 For the safety of your child

Warning! Children are oftenunaware of danger and are injuredas a result. Please note therefore:

Only allow children to use this applianceunder the supervision of an adult.

Ensure the appliance is always kept outof the reach of children.

Ensure that children cannot pull theappliance down onto themselves withthe cable.

Ensure that the packing foil does notbecome a deadly trap for a child.Packing foils are not toys.

4.5 Material damage

Caution! To avoid material damage,please observe the following conditions. The appliance must not be placed on

hot stoves, put in a hot oven or set up inthe vicinity of gas heaters and on-demand water heaters, as this couldcause damage.

Surface cleaners (furniture and worksurfaces) may contain ingredients thatcould attack and soften the rubber feet.In this case, place the appliance on anon-flammable surface.

Do not place any items on theappliance.

If the appliance is connected to themains it may be damaged by lightningduring thunderstorms.

5. Before using for the first time

1. Take the appliance and all theaccessory parts out of the packaging.

2. Check that the appliance shows no signsof damage.

3. Clean the appliance before using it forthe first time. Observe the information inthe section entitled 6. Cleaning onpage 6.

6. Cleaning

Warning! To avoid the danger ofan electric shock or burning: Always remove the plug from the

mains socket before starting toclean the appliance.

Never immerse the appliance inwater, and protect it fromsplashes and water droplets.

Caution! Never use abrasive, corrosive orcaustic cleaning materials. These coulddamage the appliance as well as the non-stick coating.

Note: Do not leave it too long beforecleaning the appliance: otherwise foodresidue may harden and be difficult toremove.1. Wipe the appliance inside and out with

a soft, damp cloth. You may also use alittle mild detergent, but should thenwipe over again with clean water.

2. Dry off using a dry cloth.3. Clean the yoghurt pots 2 (pots and lids)

and lid 1 in the sink or in a dishwasher.

7. Making yoghurt

7.1 This is how yoghurt is made

To make your own yoghurt you will need: 1 l milk or cream

Note The amount of fat contained inthe yoghurt will be the same as the milkyou use. To make creamy yoghurt, donot use milk but fresh cream, or addsome cream to your milk.

Several teaspoons of live yoghurt culture(organic yoghurt, probiotic yoghurt,home-made yoghurt, commerciallyavailable yoghurt with live cultures).Note Organic yoghurt, probioticyoghurt and your own home-madeyoghurt always contain live cultures.Some commercially available yoghurtsare long-life products and no longercontain any live cultures. Just try out your"favourite yoghurt" as the starter cultureand see whether you are happy with theresult.

Yoghurt maker approx. 10 - 12 hours' time

Milk contains lactose. It is converted intolactic acid by lactic bacteria (yoghurtculture), so allowing yoghurt to form. So thisprocess is successful, the yoghurt makerensures the best temperature for the yoghurtcultures to easily propagate.The milk should not contain any otherbacteria as this might contaminate theyoghurt. Therefore ensure absolutecleanliness, particularly where the yoghurtpots are concerned. In addition, you canboil the milk beforehand and allow it to cooldown to around 40C before adding theyoghurt culture.

Notes Home-made yoghurt is generally more

creamy and not as thick as commercialproducts.

Water may separate off duringpreparation, but this is normal. Just pouraway the water or mix it back in.

You can use the yoghurt you have madeto start off the next batch. The moreoften you do this, the thinner youryoghurt will become. If it becomes toothin, you should start afresh with a newyoghurt you have bought.

If you only use 900 ml milk, this willmake your yoghurt a bit thicker.

If you add 3 - 4 tablespoons ofpowdered milk, this will make youryoghurt thicker.

Yoghurt will become thicker if you let itmature for a day in the refrigeratorbefore eating.

UHT milk does not need to be boiledbefore making yoghurt.

Instead of using yoghurt cultures fromanother yoghurt, you can also useyoghurt powder bought from a healthfood shop or online.

Yoghurt can also be made with soyamilk. In this case use a yoghurt madewith soya milk as the starter culture.

7.2 Making plain yoghurt

1. Boil 1 l milk.2. Allow the milk to cool down until it is

lukewarm.Note: If the milk is too hot when youadd the yoghurt culture, this will kill thebacteria, and no yoghurt will beproduced.

3. Once the milk has cooled down, addaround 5 teaspoons of yoghurtcontaining live yoghurt cultures.

4. Stir well to mix in the cultures properly.5. Fill the milk into the yoghurt pots 2,

which have been carefully washed.6. Screw the tops back on.7. Put the pots in the base section 3.8. Put the lid 1 on the base section 3.9. Switch the yoghurt maker on using the

On/Off switch 4.The indicator light in the On/Off switch4 lights up.

After around 10 to 12 hours the yoghurt willhave set. 10.Switch the appliance off. 11. Remove the plug from the wall socket

after use. This is the only way to ensurethat the appliance is completely de-energized.

12.Allow the closed pots to cool downslightly and then put them in therefrigerator.

7.3 Ideas for recipes with yoghurt

You can use plain yoghurt to make yoghurtcontaining fruit or yoghurt with any flavour.There are no limits to your creativity! But donot do this until after you have made theyoghurt, or your recipe will not succeed.Fruit yoghurt:Mix in fresh fruit or a product made of fruitsuch as jam.Other flavours:Add vanilla sugar, vanilla, nuts, chocolatesprinkles, nougat, coconut flakes or otherflavourings to the yoghurt.Tsatsiki:Add chopped cucumber and garlic to theyoghurt as well as a little olive oil.

8. Disposal

8.1 Appliance

The symbol with the crossed-out rubbish bin on wheelsmeans that within the EuropeanUnion, the product must bedisposed of to a sorted rubbishcollection. This applies to the

product and all accessories which aremarked with this symbol. Marked productsmust not be disposed of via the regulardomestic waste but must be handed in to arecycling centre for electrical or electronicdevices. Recycling helps to reduce the use ofraw materials and to relieve theenvironment. You can obtain information

about disposal and the location of yournearest recycling centre from your localwaste management service, for example, orYellow Pages.

8.2 Packaging

If you wish to discard the packaging, pleaseobserve the applicable environmentalregulations in your country.

Warranty conditions

This is required as yourproof of purchase.If a defect in materials or workmanshipoccurs within three years of the date yourproduct was purchased, we will repair orreplace the product at our discretion at nocharge to you. Ureaj prilikom rada ne ostavljajtenikada bez nadzora kako biste sepravodobno mogli umijeati u sluaju dadoe do smetnji u funkcioniranju.

4.3 Zatita od elektrinog udara

Upozorenje! Naredni sigurnosninaputci trebaju zatititi odelektrinog udara.

Da bi se izbjegle opasnosti u sluajuoteenja mrenog prikljunog vodaovog ureaja, mora ga zamijenitiproizvoa ili slina kvalificirana osoba.

U ureaj nipoto ne smiju prodrijeti vodaili druge tekuine. Stoga: nikada ne koristiti na otvorenom, nikada ne uranjati u tekuine, ne stavljati na rotilj predmete

napunjene tekuinom, npr. lonce, nikada ne koristiti u vrlo vlanom

Trebate izbjegavati koritenje produnihkabela. To je doputeno samo pododreenim uvjetima:

produni kabel mora odgovaratijakosti struje ureaja.

produni kabel nije doputenopostaviti letee: ne smije biti uzrokspoticanja i ne smije biti dostupandjeci.

produni kabel nikako ne smije bitioteen.

drugi ureaji ne smiju biti prikljuenina istu elektrinu utinicu, budui da utom sluaju moe doi dopreoptereenja mree napajanjaelektrinom energijom (zabranjenokoritenje viestrukih utinica!).

Ureaj se ne smije putati u pogons vanjskim uklopnim satom ili odvojenimsustavom za daljinsko djelovanje, kaoto je na primjer beina utinica.

Nikada ne primajte mokrim rukamaureaj, mreni kabel ili mreni utika.

Mreni kabel uvijek izvlaite na utikau.Nikada ne povlaite sam kabel.

Nikada nemojte nositi ureaj namrenom kabelu.

Pripazite da se mreni kabel nikada neprelomi ili prignjei.

Potpuno odmotajte mreni kabel dokradi kako biste izbjegli pregrijavanje ipregorijevanje.

Drite mreni kabel podalje od vruihpovrina (npr. ploe penice).

Ako ne koristite ureaj, izvucite mreniutika iz elektrine utinice. Samo tadaje ureaj potpuno iskljuen iz struje.

7. Pregtirea iaurtului

7.1 Modul de preparare a iaurtului

Pentru a prepara iaurt, avei nevoie de: 1 l lapte sau smntn

Observaie: Coninutul de grsime aliaurtului corespunde coninutului degrsime al laptelui utilizat. Pentru aobine iaurt din smntn, nu folosiilapte, ci smntn proaspt sauadugai n lapte o cantitatecorespunztoare de smntn.

Cteva lingurie de culturi vii de iaurt(iaurt bio, iaurt probiotic, iaurt preparatn cas, iaurt din comer cu culturi vii).Observaie: Iaurtul bio, iaurtulprobiotic sau iaurtul dumneavoastrpreparat n cas conin ntotdeaunaculturi vii. Unele iaurturi din comerconin conservai i nu conin culturi vii.Testai iaurtul dumneavoastr preferatca pe un furnizor de culturi i apreciaisingur, dac suntei mulumit de rezultat.

Laptele conine lactoz. Aceasta estetransformat n acid lactic de bacteriile dinlapte (cultur de iaurt), din care seformeaz ulterior iaurtul. Pentru a obinerezultatele dorite, aparatul de preparat iaurtproduce o temperatur optim care permiteo nmulire satisfctoare a culturilor deiaurt.

Condiii de garanie

Acest document este necesar cadovad a cumprrii.n cazul apariiei unor defecte de materialsau de fabricaie n termen de trei ani de ladata cumprrii, v vom repara sau v vomnlocui produsul n mod gratuit, la discreianoastr. Perioada de garanie i preteniile legale de daune

Acordarea garaniei nu prelungete perio-ada de garanie. Aceast regul se aplic in cazul pieselor nlocuite sau reparate.Eventualele daune i defecte existente nmomentul cumprrii trebuie notificate ime-diat dup dezambalare. Dup expirareagaraniei, reparaiile necesare vor fi efectu-ate contra cost.

Obiectul garaniei

Wenn das Gert beschdigt ist, darf dasGert keinesfalls benutzt werden. LassenSie das Gert in diesem Falle von qualifi-ziertem Fachpersonal reparieren. DieKontaktdaten finden Sie in Service-Cen-ter auf Seite 52.

Wenn die Netzanschlussleitung diesesGertes beschdigt wird, muss sie durchden Hersteller oder eine hnlich qualifi-zierte Person ersetzt werden, umGefhrdungen zu vermeiden.

In das Gert drfen keinesfalls Wasseroder andere Flssigkeiten eindringen.Daher: niemals im Freien einsetzen niemals in Flssigkeit tauchen keine mit Flssigkeit gefllten Gegen-

stnde, z.B. Tpfe, darauf stellen niemals in sehr feuchter Umgebung

einsetzen.Falls doch einmal Flssigkeit in dasGert gelangt, ziehen Sie sofort denNetzstecker und lassen das Gert von

Die Benutzung von Verlngerungskabelnsollten Sie vermeiden. Sie ist nur unterganz bestimmten Voraussetzungengestattet: das Verlngerungskabel muss fr die

Stromstrke des Gertes geeignet sein das Verlngerungskabel darf nicht

fliegend verlegt sein: es darf nichtzur Stolperfalle werden oder von Kin-dern erreichbar sein

das Verlngerungskabel darf keines-falls beschdigt sein

es drfen keine weiteren Gerte alsdieses Gert an der Netzsteckdoseangeschlossen werden, da es sonst zueiner berlastung des Stromnetzeskommen kann (Verbot von Mehrfach-steckdosen!).

Das Gert darf nicht mit einer externenZeitschaltuhr oder einem separaten Fern-wirksystem, wie zum Beispiel einer Funk-steckdose, betrieben werden.

Fassen Sie das Gert, die Netzan-schlussleitung oder den Netzstecker nie-mals mit feuchten Hnden an.

Ziehen Sie die Netzanschlussleitungstets am Netzstecker heraus. Ziehen Sieniemals an der Netzanschlussleitungselber.

Tragen Sie das Gert nie an der Netzan-schlussleitung.

4.5 Schutz vor Sachschden

Vorsicht! Um Sachschden zu vermeiden,beachten Sie folgende Bestimmungen. Das Gert darf nicht auf heie Herdplat-

ten gestellt, in den heien Backofengeschoben oder in der Nhe von Gas-und Durchlauferhitzern aufgestellt wer-den, da dies zu Beschdigungen fhrenknnte.

Es kann nicht ausgeschlossen werden,dass Pflegemittel fr Ablageflchen(Mbel) Bestandteile enthalten, die dieGummife angreifen und aufweichen.Stellen Sie in diesem Falle das Gert aufeine nicht brennbare Unterlage.

Stellen Sie keine Gegenstnde auf dasGert.

Bei einem Gewitter kann das am Strom-netz angeschlossene Gert durch Blitz-schlag beschdigt werden.

5. Vor dem ersten Gebrauch

1. Nehmen Sie das Gert und alle Zube-hrteile aus der Verpackung.

2. berprfen Sie, dass das Gert keineBeschdigungen aufweist.

3. Reinigen Sie das Gert vor der erstenBenutzung. Beachten Sie hierzu die Hin-weise in dem Kapitel 6. Reinigen aufSeite 48.

6. Reinigen

Warnung! Um die Gefahr eineselektrischen Schlages oder einerVerbrennung zu vermeiden: Ziehen Sie vor jeder Reinigung

den Netzstecker aus derNetzsteckdose.

Tauchen Sie das Gert nie inWasser ein und schtzen Sie esvor Spritz- und Tropfwasser.

Vorsicht! Verwenden Sie keinesfalls scheu-ernde, tzende oder kratzende Reinigungs-mittel. Dadurch knnte das Gertbeschdigt werden. Hinweis: Warten Sie nicht zu lange mitdem Reinigen, damit Speisereste nicht fest-trocknen und sich dann nur noch schwer ent-fernen lassen.

1. Wischen Sie das Gert innen und auenmit einem weichen, feuchten Tuch ab.Sie knnen auch etwas mildes Splmittelbenutzen, sollten dann aber mit klaremWasser noch einmal nachwischen.

2. Wischen Sie mit einem trockenen Tuchnach.

3. Reinigen Sie die Joghurtglser 2 (Glserund Deckel) und den Deckel 1 im Spl-becken oder in einer Splmaschine.

7. Joghurt zubereiten

7.1 So entsteht Joghurt

Um selber Joghurt zu machen, bentigenSie: 1 l Milch oder Sahne

Hinweis: Der Fettgehalt des Joghurtsentspricht dem Fettgehalt derverwendeten Milch. Um Sahnejoghurtzu erhalten, nehmen Sie keine Milch,sondern frische Sahne oder geben derMilch entsprechend Sahne hinzu.

Einigehandelsbliche Joghurts sind haltbargemacht und enthalten keine lebendenKulturen mehr. Probieren Sie IhrenLieblingsjoghurt einfach mal alsKulturenlieferant aus, und beurteilen Sieselber, ob Sie mit dem Ergebniszufrieden sind.

Joghurtbereiter ca. 10 - 12 Stunden Zeit

In der Milch befindet sich Milchzucker. Die-ser wird von Milchbakterien (Joghurtkultur)in Milchsure umgewandelt, wobei sich derJoghurt bildet. Damit dies gut gelingt,erzeugt der Joghurtbereiter die optimaleTemperatur, bei der sich die Joghurtkulturengut vermehren knnen.In der Milch drfen sich keine weiteren Bak-terien befinden, da diese den Joghurt ver-derben knnten. Achten Sie daher immerauf Sauberkeit, besonders bei den Joghurt-glsern. Auerdem knnen Sie die Milchvorher abkochen und wieder auf etwa40C abkhlen lassen, bevor Sie dieJoghurtkultur zugeben.Hinweise: Eigener Joghurt ist meist cremiger und

nicht so fest, wie gekaufter. Bei der Zubereitung kann sich etwas

Wasser absetzen. Dies ist normal.Gieen Sie das Wasser weg oderrhren Sie es unter.

Mit dem eigenen Joghurt knnen Sieden nchsten Ansatz machen. Je fterSie dies wiederholen, umso dnner wirdder erzeugte Joghurt. Wird er zu dnn,sollten Sie wieder mit einem frischengekauften Joghurt beginnen.

Wenn Sie nur 900 ml Milch nehmen,wird der Joghurt etwas fester.

Wenn Sie 3 - 4 Esslffel Milchpulverzugeben, wird der Joghurt fester.

Der Joghurt wird fester, wenn Sie ihn vordem Verzehr noch 1 Tag im Khlschrankreifen lassen.

H-Milch braucht vor der Joghurtberei-tung nicht abgekocht zu werden.

Statt Joghurtkulturen aus einem anderenJoghurt kann auch Joghurtpulver ausdem Reformhaus oder Internet verwen-det werden.

Joghurt lsst sich auch aus Sojamilchherstellen. Verwenden Sie dann als Kul-turenlieferant einen Joghurt, der eben-falls aus Sojamilch hergestellt wurde.

7.2 Naturjoghurt herstellen

1. Kochen Sie 1 l Milch ab.2. Lassen Sie die Milch abkhlen, bis sie

nur noch handwarm ist.Hinweis: Wenn Sie die Joghurtkulturzugeben, solange die Milch noch zuhei ist, sterben die Bakterien ab und esentsteht kein Joghurt.

3. Geben Sie zu der abgekhlten Milch ca.5 Teelffel Joghurt mit lebenden Joghurt-kulturen.

4. Rhren Sie gut um, damit sich die Kultu-ren gut verteilen.

5. Fllen Sie die Milch in die sorgfltiggereinigten Joghurtglser 2.

6. Schrauben Sie die Glser zu.7. Stellen Sie die Glser in das Unterteil 3.8. Setzen Sie den Deckel 1 auf das Unter-

teil 3.9. Schalten Sie den Joghurtbereiter am

Ein- /Ausschalter 4 ein.Die Kontroll-Lampe im Ein-/Ausschalter 4leuchtet.

Nach ca. 10 bis 12 Stunden ist der Joghurtstichfest. 10.Schalten Sie das Gert aus.

11. Ziehen Sie nach Gebrauch den Netz-stecker aus der Netzsteckdose. Nur soist das Gert vllig stromfrei.

12. Lassen Sie die verschlossenen Glsernoch etwas abkhlen und stellen Sie siedann in den Khlschrank.

7.3 Rezeptideen fr Joghurtmischerzeugnisse

Sie knnen aus dem Naturjoghurt Frucht-joghurt oder Joghurt mit beliebigerGeschmacksrichtung herstellen. Ihrer Fanta-sie sind keine Grenzen gesetzt. Dies darfaber immer erst nach der Joghurtbereitungpassieren, da der Joghurt sonst nicht gelingt.Fruchtjoghurt:Mischen Sie frische Frchte oder eine Frucht-zubereitung, wie z.B. Konfitre, unter denJoghurt.Andere Geschmacksrichtungen:Mischen Sie Vanillezucker, Vanille, Nsse,Schokostreusel, Nougat, Kokosflocken oderandere Aromen unter den Joghurt.Tsatsiki:Rhren Sie kleingeschnitte Gurken, Knob-lauch und etwas Olivenl in den Joghurt.
