The first meeting is a free introductory lecture open to all Subsequently there will be six sessions of two hours each (12 hours total). Timings of classes will be decided with the students. If you already have a knowledge of Italian and wish to brush it up or you are a beginner and wish to start, please come to the introductory lecture. We are happy to open courses at all levels if we have a minimum number of students. Learn Italian at Somaiya CentreThe Italian Embassy Cultural Centre shy New Delhi Mumbai and the Somaiya Centre forLifelong Learning are happy to announce a new batch of Italian classes

COURSE OBJECTIVES The objective of the beginners (A1) course is to provide students with the abilities and skillsrequired for simple and essential conversation in the most common and familiar situations At theend of the course the student will be able to understand and use everyday expressions and basicsentences concerning himself his family and his immediate concrete surroundings He will beable to introduce himself and others and to ask and answer questions concerning personalinformation such where he lives the people he knows and his possessions He will be able tointeract in a simple way provided the other person is prepared to repeat or rephrase things at aslower rate of speech and help him formulate what he is trying to say It is estimated that order toachieve a basic level of Italian or A1 you need to attend classesstudy for 100 hours
