Kebu® Rockshield Mats PP 1000 are used as additional mechanical protection of coatings according to DIN 30672 and DIN EN 12068 or as mechanical protection of buried plastic, steel, or cast-iron pipes as well as for vessels. The use of Kebu Rockshield Mats PP 1000 saves partially or completely the sand backfi lling. The mats have a shock-absorbing and load-dis-tributing effect. In addition they reduce the effects of thermal expansion of the pipeline by decoupling the corrosion pro-tection coating from the surrounding soil. The shear forces transmitted are much lo-wer and the risk of mechanical damages is reduced signifi cantly.

Kebu® Rockshield Mat PP 1000 is made of fl exible and supply material which provi-des excellent mechanical protection for complex components (e.g. valves, fl anges or penstocks). The mats should be used wherever additional mechanical protec-tion of the coating with petrolatum tapes (e.g., Kebu® Petro-Band A303) is required. The excellent permeability of Kebu®

Rockshield PP 1000 for ground electroly-tes provides an unaffected cathodic pro-tection.
