Student Testimonials

“Through the Erasmus program, I had the opportunity to participate in a traineeship program at a law firm in Greece for a period of four months. Practical training focused on Legal Science and more specifically on Criminal, Commercial and Civil Law.

My practice focused on learning legal texts after necessary research and help from my curator. I attended trials and participated in business appointments, provided secretarial support for complex cases, and learned how to archive and organize my time. This has led to enriching my knowledge and gaining professional experience that is one of the most valuable skills I could have.”

“I have been studying Business at European University Cyprus for three years. I enjoy my life here very much. Cyprus is a very safe and beautiful Mediterranean country. What’s more, I have joined the European exchange program, Erasmus, and went to Munich, Germany last year. This half-year experience in Germany as an exchange student taught me a lot, and opened up the world to me. I also received Erasmus funding for monthly living expenses. I really appreciate it that European University Cyprus has given me a precious opportunity like this.”

It is the first school to establish the Start-Up Academy through Microsoft Innovation Center to promote innovation and start-up projects.

The development of the School’s programs of study has been consistent with the emergence of Cyprus as a center for services, which made managers trained in Management, Marketing and Hotel Management highly sought after. The School’s programs have been drawn up in parallel to the development of Economics both in Cyprus and internationally, in order to always meet the needs and demands of contemporary economy and soci-ety. The faculty’s high scientific stature reflects the quality of studies and rightly preserves the School of Business Administration of European University Cyprus in the international spotlight.

The School of Medicine is a dynamic learning environment, which enables students to develop the necessary skills and attributes required to practice medicine. The curriculum is skilled-based but students are exposed to clinical work and clinical relevance starting from the first year of study. This hands-on, practical approach is maintained throughout the six years of the course of study.

Teaching is conducted in English, with a minimum work load of 360 ECTS of the education and training required to complete the Bachelor of Medicine Degree over six years. No ‘premedical’ coursework is required as the program of study provides an all-inclusive, full basic sciences thematic unit.

The training of the students is oriented to the preparation of up-to-date, competent, ethical and fully adaptable medical doctors with the resourceful-ness necessary to face inevitable changes in the field that develop over time. It will focus on its students’ acquisition of the most efficient clinical skills and on the implementation of professional ethics in the field of medicine.

Students also have access to private and state-run hospitals throughout Cyprus and particularly the Larnaca General Hospital which serves as European University Cyprus’ Hospital.

Dentistry ProgramDentistry is a five-year program, leading to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). Students are taught in state-of-the-art facilities equipped with the latest technology used in dental education. Teaching is conducted in English, with a minimum workload of 5,000 hours of theoretical and practical training, equivalent to 300 ECTS.

Our faculty is a dedicated team of high-caliber dental practitioners who share a common goal of graduating first-class dentists able to function anywhere within the EU and other international health care standards.

We believe in early clinical exposure and our privately owned dental clinic will give you the opportunity for patient interaction and clinical training as early as the first year of study.

The Dental Surgery program is based on the existing programs of European and North American dental schools with particular consideration on the “2009 Update of the Profile and Competences for the Graduating European Dentist”, which was approved by the Association of Dental Education in Europe (ADEE) on 28.08.2009.

The curriculum and training will provide graduates with a regognised qualification necessary for the practice of Dentistry as a general dental practitioner according to the EU-Directives 2005/36 and amendment 2013/55/EU.

Pedagogical ModelThe Distance Education Unit of European University Cyprus is determined, from a pedagogical perspec-tive, by a concrete model. Our main inspiration for the design and development of this model has been the Open University of Catalonia, the first 100% online university in the world, with which the Distance Education Unit of the EUC is constantly collaborating not only in research, but also at teaching level. Of course our pedagogical model is adapted to the needs, special characteristics and legislation of the Hellenic region (Greece and Cyprus), where distance education is still always

accompanied with face-to-face meetings between the tutors and the students, as well as with the existence of an obligatory (written) final examination. In this context, European University Cyprus has taken into consideration the fundamental functioning principles of the Hellenic Open University and the Open University of Cyprus, with which it collaborates in issues that concern the learning materials that will be used by the University’s distance learning stdents, as well as the creation and offer of Joint Degrees.
