Schedule Overview

1. All Recruitment Events must conclude by 10:00 P.M. Potential new members may not participate in events or be at fraternity houses past 10:00 P.M.

2. Everyone participating in recruitment, including active members, alumni, and potential new members must be substance-free during the recruitment period beginning Tuesday, September 19 through Monday, September 25.

3. Only those potential new members that are registered for recruitment will be eligibile to receive a bid. Registration closes on Friday, September 22 at 11:59 P.M.

4. Bids will be distributed at 3 P.M. on Sunday, September 24 in North Gym 118. Potential new members are not permitted to be at any fraternity events or visit any IFC affiliated property until 24 hours after the conclusion of Bid Day.

General Info // Information about Fresno State Greek Life Fraternities // Information about the 11 IFC fraternities

Master Schedule // Lists all events held by all fraternities during recruitment week; includes information on the time and location of the event; to add specific events to your schedule, select the event and click ‘Add to my schedule’ at the bottom of the page

My Schedule // Keeps track of the different events you have selected to attend

Contact Info // Includes contact info for each of the fraternity Recruitment Chairs as well as the IFC Recruitment Team and Greek Life Staff

Attendees // Allows you to check-in to events and see who else is attending as well; make sure that you have created a profile (blue circle in top right corner) and are logged in to share your information with the fraternities

TERMINOLOGYActive: An initiated member who is a college student.

Alumnus: A fraternity member who has graduated or left college (plural: Alumni).

Associate/New Member: A non-initiated member of a fraternity.

Badge: The pin of an initiated member.

Bid: A formal invitation to join an organization.

Candidate: A person who will potentially be inducted into an organization.

Chapter: The local group of an international organization.

Colony: A newly organized group working to become a chartered chapter.

Dry Rush/Recruitment: The practice of not serving alcoholic beverages at any rush/recruitment function.

Interfraternity Council (IFC): The representative body of all men's fraternities.

Formal Recruitment: The period of time set aside for structured recruitment.

Fraternity: The name that applies to male chapters and is characterized by a ritual, a pin, and a strong bond of friendship.

Initiation: A formal ceremony during which a man begins full membership in an organization.

Legacy: A Potential New Member whose grandparents, parents, or sibling is a member of a particular organization.

New Member Period: The time during which new members learn about their organization, its members, and their activities.

Philanthropy: Endeavors raising money for charitable organizations.

Potential New Member: A man who is going through the recruitment process.

Recommendation: A letter signed by an alumnus recommending a Potential New Member for membership.

Ritual: A value-based ceremony that is traditional of a chapter. Rituals are kept secret.
