An entirely new breed of GC The Series 5700 GC produces more accurate and re-peatable retention time and peak area data than any GC ever built: none can outperform it, even at twice the price. Its all-digital design makes set-up easy and exact even for inexperienced technicians. For use with computers and integrators, no other GC can match the 5700's unique combination of low-noise output, dynamic range and remote electrometer ranging. In automatic systems, the 5700 has no equal: its optional automatic oven door is operated by a feedback control circuit that senses oven wall temperature, to ensure accurate re-equilibration every time; and it is directly compatible with the HP 7671A Automatic Sampler.

But the truly amazing thing about the 5700 is its price: at $2995 for a dual FID instrument with electrometer, isothermal oven controller and on-column dual injection port, the 5700 costs about half as much as "research" GC's of comparable quality and about the same as "rout ine" instruments that fall far short of the 5700 in performance and versatility.

This kind of improvement in price/performance was achieved with entirely new design concepts, from the ground up.

For instance, the Linear Programmer is completely solid state with exactly repeatable digital settings for temperatures, times and rate; with proportional/integral feedback temperature controller and 0.1 °C control stability; oven wall

t e m p e r a t u r e sensor, in te r locked with ready light, start pushbutton and remote signaling to computer; automatic overheat protection; optional subambient control.

The TC detector control has 8 digital steps of sensitivity adjustment, exactly repeatable; built-in filament protection based on continuous resistance monitoring. The solid-state electrometer can be ranged during a run, manually or by computer because it returns to baseline in less than 1 second; dynamic range 10"; current noise, 1x10-1J A (inputs capped).

There are solid-state proportional/ integral temperature controllers for detector (standard), injector and auxiliary (opt.); with platinum sensors; digital settings, completely repeatable, directly calibrated to

absolute accuracy specification; control stability, better than 0.1 °C; temperature coefficient of set point, 0.05°C per °C change in ambient; shorted sensor protection and power demand signal lights.

Series 5700 GC's are automatic by design: a i r -opera ted oven door, r emote signaling of ready status, remote start, remote control of electrometer range. And the 5700 is directly compatible with the 7671A Automatic Sampler, with the 3370B

Integrator and 3360A GC Data Processing Sys tem. . . for completely unattended operation and data reduction through as many as 36 consecutive samples.
