Overcoming Generation Gap

Greek Teams’ Album

of family relations and activities

Greek Pupils’ family-friends pictures and activities

Mum is always there to stand by us and help us.

We often spend time with ourgrandparents who teach us thetraditional way of life, oldhabits and customs.

Sunday family meeting and lunch at grandpa’s

house.

One more family lunch with my grandparents and relatives is ready!!

Spending time with my friends is very important

for me too. I trust them and we share problems and little secrets together.

On my birthday,

my friends are always with me

Mari-vassia.“Children should

respect their parents and

grandparents”

“I love sharing

moments with

members of my

family”

Preparing food with grandma and mum.

I am font of the company

of my grandma. We

discuss a lot of things and

I often ask for her advice

My family is important

for me but my friends

also. We talk, go out and

share common interests.

“We have visited many countries during

holidays, in summer but in winter too”. This helps the family stick together.

Spyros

“I like being with family

members but mostly I

need my friends who can

put up with my jocks.

“I like making fun all the

time!!!! My mum can’t

stand me sometimes”.

Having lunch with parents, relatives and friends is nice as we need to reinforce bonds between us,

although they keep advising me all the time.

My friends are very important for me as they seem to

accept me without criticizing me. However I like doing

things with thm too, like Comenius project activities.

Here I am with some of my school friends and

teachers. They often find it difficult to handle me

because of my “making fun” all the time.

An older picture of junior high-school. We are still friends! We need each other!

They also feel very happy to have us near them.

They are always supportive in every way.

My grandma Vaso is making the“Vasslopita” pie for 2015

She uses the

tradditional recipe

for the pie from Asia

Minor, Turkey

where she comes from

She speaks the Turkish

language and she also

sings beautiful songs from her birth place.

Cooking and singing

the Turkish song

“Bekledim de

gelmedin” with

grandpa Savvas,

written by the Turkish

composer, songwriter

and performer Yesari

Asım Arsoy

“Bekledim de gelmedin” ( I have been waiting for you to come )

Bekledim de gelmedin/ Sevdiğimi bilmedin/ Gözyaşımı silmedin/ Hiç mi beni sevmedin?/Söyle, söyle/ Hiç mi beni sevmedin?/ Bir öpücük ver bana/ Yalvarıyorum sana/ Benikucaklasana/ Kollarına alsana/ Söyle, söyle/ hiç mi beni sevmedin?/.

I have been waiting but you never show up/

Didn’t you feel my love for you?/ You didn’t wipe

my tear/ Didn’t you love me at all?/ Give me a

kiss/ I beg you/ Hug me/ Take me in your hands/

Tell me, Tell me/ Didn’t you love me at all?

My friends are a special part of me too.

We understand each other and this helps me

emotionally.

together and enjoying each

others company and love.

Time of joy for the kids and their grandma.

Sharing time and activities certainly can eliminate generation gap,

through love and respect.

Tea’s family welcoming 2015Preserving tradditional customs passed by

the older members of the family to the younger ones.

Cooking has always been a way to keep the family

united

Cooking Schnitzel in two ways;

with cheese and with tomato sauce It isn’t a traditional

food but many young people like it in Greece.

This is the result of our cooking.

Grandma is tasting
