Reactions 1325 - 30 Oct 2010 Glatiramer acetate Alopecia: case report A 42-year-old woman was diagnosed with relapsing- remitting multiple sclerosis in 1998 and initially received interferon β-1b. She began glatiramer acetate [dosage and route of administration not stated] therapy in 2004. In August 2006 she noticed substantial progressive hair loss over her scalp, pubic area, axillae and extremities. Her eyebrows and eyelashes were not affected. Non-scarring alopecia was diagnosed. Glatiramer acetate therapy was stopped for 3 months and the woman reported complete remission of her alopecia. The glatiramer acetate therapy was resumed for 6 months with no recurrence of alopecia.
