As an expected outcome, there has been a continuous development and improvement of the company’s organization structure and quality of its services.

In July 2018 the company completed successfully the renewal of the certification of its quality management system according to EN ISO9001/2015. Upon inspection by the certification body QMS CERT, it was verified that the company's organization is fully complied with the require-ments of the standard.

ISO 9001:2015 Innovation and entrepreneurship awardsAID - Air-pollution Intelligent Defense (http://aid.karte-co.gr/en/index) in 2017 was awarded with the 5th place in the 7th “Innovation and Technology” National Com-petition organized by the National Bank of Greece (NBG Business Seeds).

AID is an Innovative Real Time Air Quality Monitoring System consisted of multiple measurement stations and an interactive multi-agent network with main target to assess air quality and environmental conditions and support decision making and action implementation for public health protection and air pollution mitigation.

AID utilizes real time monitoring and fuzzy logic assess-ment of air quality conditions in order to protect public health by providing continuous information through inter-net and mobile application (Air-Polis) as well as to propose the appropriate actions to control air pollution critical events.

AID was developed with co-finance from national and EU funds, and particularly the GSRT Management and Imple-mentation Agency for RTD and Innovation Activities and the European Regional Development Fund finance part of the total budget, within the framework of the Action "Support of new businesses on R & D activities", GSRT 2009.

kartECO has a great portfolio with over 150 environmental projects in Greece and abroad, regarding mostly environmental licensing, management of natural environment and environmental monitoring.

In 2018, we initiated our first innovative research project funded by the European Space Agency (ESA) under the Activity line 6 "EO for Sustainable development of the ESA/AO/1-9101/17/I-NB call". The project is called SenSPa. (http://www.senspa.karte-co.gr): "Sentinels for Sustainable Pasture Management". Total budget: 149,900€

In 2015-2017, we have successfully completed three projects in Azerbaijan under the United Nations Development Program, regarding forest inventory methodology develop-ment and pasture and forest management plan preparation. The total budget exceeded 270k €.

We currently participate as a subcontractor in the development of a user-friendly and customized district forest management plans (DFMP) database in Rwanda, which is a project funded by ENABEL (Belgian Development Agency).

We are running the supervision of a biomass collection campaign within the project "SMBP - Sustainable Management of Biodiversity, South Caucasus", which is implemented in Azerbaijan from GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft Fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

In 2018, we have completed a group of environmental audits and environmental assess-ment studies reflecting the environmental situation at 23 identified locations (camps and police stations) that fall under UNFICYP's responsibility (island-wide in Cyprus) and the development of an innovative online solution for UNFICYP's Environmental Management Department to manage and update online the collected environmental information.

With our own measurement equipment,

- we monitor air quality in real time in the city of Thessaloniki, Northern Greece, using our own developed mobile application, the Air-Polis

- we have conducted numerous (indoor and outdoor) measure-ments regarding mostly odor, dust, thermal comfort and noise in urban and industrial areas.

We are highly specialized on bird monitoring and observation towards planning and implementing efficient bird strike accident prevention measures. Currently we are running periodic bird observations in wind parks in Karpathos, Chios and Kefalonia islands in Greece.
