2nd Bolt Connection
Conference 2014
The topics of the 2ndBolt Connection Conference 2014 deal with requirements, innovation as well as potential for technical optimization of bolt connections bigger than M20 (3/4 ’’) .
To optimize bolt connections and use their technical
potentials efficiently the whole picture of the “process
chain bolt connection” needs to be analyzed. The process
chain bolt connection consists out of the four factors
technical design, bolting method, fasteners used and bolt
integrity. This whole scale focus on bolt connection also
reflects in the titles of the speeches of the well known
German speakers.
Biggest optimization potentials can be identified among the
designing process of bolt connections and among bolt
integrity / quality. Therefore the 2nd Bolt Connection
Conference gives extra information on how to design bolt
connections more efficiently based on the updated
fundamental German bolting guideline VDI 2230.
Moreover there are projects presented about new
measurement technologies like the ultra sonic bolt
measurement to guarantee the integrity and durability of
bolt connections
Dipl.-Ing. Frank Hohmann,
Conference host
Target groups
The conference offers valuable information for engineers,
technical advisors, project engineers and technical deciders
who are working in sectors like technical design, research &
development as well as quality or project management –
generally every professional who deals with the design or
the use of bolt connections bigger than M20 (3/4’’).
Hands on tools on an extra dayThe extra day “hands on tools” on the day before the
conference gives a practical impression about the latest
innovations in bolting technology.
