INTRODUCTION

safety information. Onlyusethemeterasspecifiedinthisusermanual. Neverusethismeteronacircuitwithvoltagesgreater

than 600Vrms @ 50/60Hz. Nevermeasure current while the test leads are con-

nected to the input jacks. Donotoperatethemeterifthebodyortestsleadslook

damaged. Checktherotaryrangeswitchandmakesureitisatthe

correct position before each measurement. Donotperformresistanceandcontinuitytestonalive

circuit. Useextremecautionwhenmeasuringlivesystemswith

voltage greater than 60VDC or 30VAC. Useextremecarewhenworkingaroundbusbarsand

bare conductors. Donotusethemeterinoverrange/overloadconditions

MAINTENANCE

5.1 Warning!

• Removethetestleadsonanyinputbeforeopeningthecase.

• Donotoperatetheclamp-onprobewithoutabatterycasecover.

• Toavoidelectricalshock,donotattempttoperformanyservicingunlessyouarequalifiedtodoso.

• Toavoidelectricalshockand/ordamagetotheinstrument,donotgetwaterorotherforeignagentsintotheprobe.

5.2 Cleaning

• Tocleantheprobe,wipethecasewithadampclothandmilddeter-gent.

• Donotuseabrasivesorsolvents.

• Donotgetwaterinsidethecase.Thismayleadtoelectricalshockor damage to the instrument.


5.3 Battery Replacement

Theclamp-onmeterModel500 ispoweredby twoAA1.5Vbatter-ies. The symbolwillappearontheLCDdisplaywhenthesupplyvoltagedropsbelowproperoperating range.This indicates that thebatteries need to be changed. It is recommended to replace both bat-teries at the same time.• The meter must be in the OFF position and disconnected from

any circuit or input.• Placethemeterfacedownandloosenthebatterycoverscrew

withaflatheadscrewdriver.• Replacetheoldbatterieswithtwofresh1.5VAAAsizebatteries.• Replacethebatterycompartmentcoverandtightendownthe

screw.


Repair and CalibrationToensurethatyourinstrumentmeetsfactoryspecifications,werecommendthatit be submitted to our factory Service Center at one-year intervals for recalibra-tion, or as required by other standards or internal procedures.

INTRODUCCIÓN

Advertencia Lea el manual de usuario antes de operar el instru-

de usuario. Nuncautiliceestemedidorenuncircuitoconvoltajes

superiores a 600Vrms @ 50/60Hz. Nuncamida corrientemientras los cables de prueba

MANTENIMIENTO

5.1 ¡Advertencia!• Retireloscablesdepruebadelasentradasantesdeabrirlacaja.

5.2 Limpieza• Para limpiarelmedidor, frote la cajaconunpañohúmedoyun

detergente suave.

• Nouseabrasivosnisolventes.

• Nopermitaqueentreaguadentrodelacaja.Estopuedeconducira un choque eléctrico o dañar el instrumento.


5.3 Reemplazo de la BateríaEl medidor de tenaza Modelo 500 es alimentado por dos baterías tipo AAA de 1.5V. Cuando el voltaje de alimentación cae por debajo del rango de operación apropiado aparece en la pantalla LCD el símbolo

. Este indica que se debe reemplazar la batería. Se recomienda reemplazar ambas baterías simultáneamente.

• ElmedidordebeestarenlaposiciónOFFydesconectadodecual-quier circuito o entrada.

• Coloqueelmedidorcaraabajoysuelteeltornillodelacubiertadela batería con un destornillador de paleta.

• ReemplacelasbateríasviejaspordosbateríasnuevasdetamañoAAA de 1.5V.

• Repongalatapadelcompartimientodebateríayaprieteeltorni-llo.


Reparación y CalibraciónPara asegurar que su instrumento cumple con las especificaciones defábrica, recomendamos que sea enviado al Centro de Servicio de la fábrica parare-calibración,anualmenteosegúnlorequieranotrosestándaresoprocedimientos internos.
