Dipotamia : Energy figure

• Houses are the largest energy consumer

• Biomass is the main energy source of domestic heating (2/3 of total). Inhabitants purchase the necessary wood supplies in discount price from the local timber association.

Dipotamia : Action Plan

Energy Saving

• Improvements in building’s envelope in 183 domestic buildings and 5 public buildings

• Installation of 118 LED lights, replacing 125W HQI.

• Installation of energy efficient pumps for potable water supply.

• Purchase of one 1,5 tn, 7kW electric garbage truck

Energy Production

• Centralized energy unit:• Installation of a 3,5 MW, hot

water biomass boiler. • Development of a district

heating network• Installation of a 0,6 MW ORC

cogeneration plant• Electricity is supplied to the

distribution network with feed-in tariff

• Heating bills are collected via water supply authority

9

Total budget: 8 mil. €

Dipotamia : Energy models - houses

• Domestic buildings

• Energy audit in each house, according to Greek Energy Efficiency Standards (KENAK)

• Development of 9 energy models, for the simulation of the overall energy behavior.
