Το Design walk στη δεύτερη διορ γάνω-

σή του προβάλει την έννοια της συνερ-

γασίας. Τη συνεργασία μεταξύ των σχε-

δια στών, Ελλήνων και ξένων, νέων και

παλαιοτέρων, αλλά και τη συνεργασία

των ανθρώπων που ανήκουν στον ευρύ-

τερο χώρο της οπτικής επικοινω νίας

όπως οι γραφίστες και οι εικο νογράφοι,

οι σχεδιαστές μόδας ή αντικειμένων, οι

αρχιτέ κτο νες, οι φωτογράφοι, οι video

artists και οι εικαστικοί καλλιτέ χνες.

Η Ένωση Γραφιστών Ελλάδας πιστεύει

στη συνεργασία ως καταλυτικό συστα-

τικό για την εξέλιξη του design αλλά

και οποιασδήποτε μορφής δημιουργίας,

όπως πιστεύει και στο design walk, απο-

τέλεσμα το ίδιο της συνεργασίας των

δημιουρ γικών γραφείων της περιοχής

του Ψυρρή.

Η Ένωση Γραφιστών Ελλάδας, όχι μόνο

πιστεύει στη συνερ γασία αλλά έχει ως

προτεραιότητα να στηρίξει συνεργασίες

με όλους τους φορείς του χώρου αλλά

και τις ιδιωτικές πρω τοβουλίες προκει-

μέ νου να βοηθήσει στην προώθηση του

ελληνικού design και να διαμορφώσει

ένα καλύτερο περιβάλ λον για την ανά-

πτυ ξη της γραφιστικής στην Ελλάδα.

Το design walk είναι μια από αυτές τις

ιδιωτικές πρωτοβου λίες, η οποία με

συνέπεια παράγει νέες ιδέες και με τρό-

πο φρέσκο και δημιουργικό παρουσιάζει

στο ευρύ κοινό το νέο πρόσωπο του

Ελληνικού design. Μια πρωτοβουλία

που η Ένωση με χαρά και ιδιαίτερη τιμή

υποστηρίζει.

[Design Walk in its second edition, en-

dorses the significance of collaboration.

The collaboration between designers,

Greek and foreign, young and senior,

but also the collaboration between

people who belong to the wider field of

visual communication, graphic design-

ers and illustrators, fashion and product

designers, architects, photographers

and fine artists.

The Greek Graphic Designers Association

considers this form collaboration to be

a catalytic component for the develop-

ment of design but also for any form of

creation and believes in value of Design

Walk, a result itself of the collaboration

between the creative practices of Psyrri.

The Greek Graphic Designers Association

not only believes in the notion of colla bo-

ration but has precedence in supporting

collaborations among all design insti-

tutions but also of private initiatives

in order to help promote Greek design

and create a better environment for

the growth of graphic design in Greece.

Design Walk is one from of these private

initiatives, which consequently produces

new ideas while presenting to the wider

public, in a fresh and creative way, the

new face of Greek design. An initiative,

the Greek Graphic Designers Association

is proud to support for the second

consecutive year.]

•• Μία έκθεση για το graphic design,

το νόημα και την ουσιαστική του θέση

σε σχέση με τις τέχνες, που έχει σκοπό

να οδηγήσει το κοινό σε καλύτερη κατα-

νόη ση των μηχανισμών, που μπορούν

να χρησιμοποιηθούν στην επικοινωνία.

Η αποκλειστική χρήση γραμμάτων

(typography) δημιουργεί μία αλυσιδωτή

απεικόνιση από αποφθέγματα, κείμενα

και οπτικά τεχνάσματα που καλύπτουν

διάφορες πτυχές της γραφιστικής.

its meaning and its substantial position

towards art, which aims to make the

audience have a better understanding

of the processes that can be used

in communication. The exclusive use

of letters (typography) creates a chain

reaction of mottos, texts and visual

tricks, which cover various aspects of

graphic design.]

Cog

•• Τα δόντια των γραναζιών μπορούν

να είναι είτε παράλληλα, είτε κεκλιμένα

πρός τον άξονα τους, είτε να σχημα τί-

ζουν μεταξύ τους γωνία. Τα παράλληλα

τοποθετημένα γρανάζια μπορούν να

είναι σε επαφή είτε εξωτερικά είτε εσω-

τερικά (δηλαδή το ένα μέσα στο άλλο),

ενώ η κεκλιμένη οδόντωση μπορεί να

είναι είτε απλή είτε διπλή. Εξασφα λί-

ζουν μεγάλη ασφάλεια λειτουργίας,

ακριβή σχέση μετάδοσης, δυνατότητα

υπερφόρτωσης, μεγάλη διάρκεια ζωής

και μεγάλο βαθμό απόλαυσης. Cog είναι

Company και ‘g’ μαζί. Cog όμως είναι

και το δόντι του γραναζιού στα αγγλικά.

Cog είναι και το σύμβολο της συνερ γα-

σίας αφού χάρη στη συνεργασία μεταξύ

των γραναζιών κινούνται οι μηχανισμοί.

•• [The cogs of a cogwheel may be posi-

tioned parallel, tilted or at an angle

to each other. Parallel cogwheels come

into contact with each other either

externally or internally, (ie one inside

the other) while tilted positioned cogs

can have either single or double contact.

They ensure safe function, correct gear

ratio, ability to withstand the pressure

of overloading, long shelf life and there-

fore offer a great degree of satisfaction.

Cog is Company and ‘g’ working together.

Cog is also the tooth of a gear. Cog is a

symbol οf collaboration – each element

effecting the next.]

Recto Verso

•• Όλα ξεκινούν από τον κρίκο μιας αλυ-

σίδας, ο οποίος αρχίζει να έχει νόημα

μόνο όταν συνδέεται με τον μπροστά

και τον πίσω του με μια σχέση εξάρ τη σης.

Aυτή η σχέση ερευνάται με μεικτή τεχνο-

τροπία (φωτογραφία, κολάζ, τυπο γρα-

φία, graphics) και μετουσιώ νεται σε ένα

βιβλίο χωρίς αρχή, μέση και τέλος. Άρα

δεν έχει εξώφυλλο και οπισθόφυλ λο.

Κάθε σελίδα έχει το recto verso της,

την “άλλη” της μεριά, μία όψη που ενώ

είναι τελείως εξαρτημένη από την πίσω

της, διατηρεί την μοναδικότητα και την

δύναμή της.

•• [Everything starts with the link of a

chain that only makes sense when the

beginning and end are connected,

portraying their total state of dependen -

cy. This connection is being examined

with a mixed style (photography, collage,

graphics) and then transformed into a

book without a beginning, middle or end

and hence without a front or back cover.

Every page has its own recto verso, its

other side, an aspect that even though

is connected to its back, still preserves

its uniqueness and strength.]

I am from Athens

•• Aθήνα δεν είναι μόνο η Ακρόπολη.

Είναι μια πόλη αντιφατική, ανατο λιτικο-

δυτική, ζωντανή, σκληρή, ανθρώπινη που

διαμορφώνεται τώρα, εξελίσσεται, βελ-

τιώνεται, προχωρά. Μέσω του graphic

design και του illustration ανα δει κνύεται

μια διαφορετική αισθητική που υπάρχει,

έστω κρυμμένη, στην πόλη. Αν την

αγαπήσεις θα ακολου θή σουν μετά και

οι άλλοι…

•• [Athens isn’t only the Acropolis. It’s

an eastern/western city with controversy

and energy. A harsh yet humane city,

which is changing, developing, improv-

ing, progressing. Through graphic design

and illustration, a different aesthetic

hidden in the urban background will be

exhibited. If you find it and love it, others

The Amazing Humanoid Circus

•• Oι Sereal Designers και οι σχεδιαστές

μόδας WALM στήνουν ένα εικονογρα-

φικό παιχνίδι με αφετηρία τις φόρμες

που προκύπτουν από την αντίστιξη του

ανθρώπινου σώματος με τον περι βάλ-

λοντα χώρο. Φόρμες που αναδημιουρ-

γούνται και προεκτείνονται στις 3 δια στά -

σεις, αλλοιώνοντας την αίσθηση του

πραγματικού. Οι δύο ομάδες παν τρεύ ουν

το graphic με το fashion σ’ ένα μετα βαλ-

λόμενο project που στόχο έχει να δώσει

μορφή και υφή στο (μη) υπαρκτό.

•• [Sereal Designers and fashion design-

ers WALM set up an iconoclastic game,

start ing with the forms that emerge

from the counterpoint between the

human body and its surroundings. They

are being recreated and translated into

3D, in a way that dilutes the sense

of reality. The two design teams unite

graphic with fashion in a changing

project, which aims to give shape and

essence to the (non-)existing.]
