The CNC lathe PL20A featuring high quality, high reliabilityand high productivity is indispensable in the era of FA.
■The anti-backlash and anti-vibrationmechanism assures highaccuracymachining.
The AC servo motor used on the X and Z axes of
the feed drive system is connected directly to the
screw, and there is near-zero backlash and
vibration. Power-up series (P series)(1:8) AC
spindle motor is installed on the spindle drive
system.
As the machine does not use gears, vibration is
near zero and high machining accuracy is assured
at all times
■The rapid indexing turret featuring0.5 seconds for 1 station hassignificantly reduced the idle time.
The nonstop random index system which uses
index motor developed by Samsung in the turret
indexing enables tool selection within 0.5 seconds
for 1 station. The rapid teed rate allows positioning
at a speed as fast as 20m/min(787.4 ipm) for X
and Z axes. The model PL20A has considerably
reduced the idle time, ensuring high-efficiency
operation.

Central Integrated Operational Panel allows operator avoid
unnecessary movement, and designed for the best
performance, also, 90˚ rotate panel gives operator much
convenient.

Slant-design bed makes the work go smoother, chip removal mucheasier. Tough tubular construction stands up to the hardest cutting jobs.
Cross-Section of the Bed
Careful consideration has been given toevery corner of the machine. The separatecoolant tank also makes cleaning easier.
As the coolant tank is separated from the machine,there is no thermal effects created from chips andcoolant, and cleaning is quite simple.
High-accuracy is assured even during long,continuous operation by taking appropriatemeasures against thermal displacement ofthe spindle.
As the spindle speed tends to become faster, it isimportant to take appropriate measures to preventspindle heating and thermal displacement.
The spindle does not use any gear, one of thesources of heat, and is designed in a structurefeaturinghigh heat removal effects.Thermal displacement is positively preventedthrough installation of a fan at the rear of themachine.The ball screw, the feed mechanism, is structuredin 3-point support to which pre-load is applied toprevent thermal expansion.
