1999 triazole derivatives triazole derivatives R 0280 49 - 122 Nucleophilic Substitution of Benzotriazolylalkyl Chlorides with Grignard Reagents: A Direct Route to Benzotria- zoloalkyl(hetero)aromatic Compounds. — A general method for the synthesis of 1-(α-arylalkyl)benzotriazoles is presented involving the reaction of chlorides such as (I) or (IV) with arylmagnesium bromides. In the case of thienyl derivative (VI) isomerization to the 2-benzotriazolyl derivative (VII) is observed.
