Impedance vs. FrequencyThe magnitude of the impedance is given by

•The capacitive reactance XC varies inversely with frequency f.

•When the frequency f increases, the Xc will decreases and thus the

magnitude of the total impedance ZT also decreases.

•When the frequency f decreases , the Xc will increases and thus the

magnitude of the total impedance ZT also increases. •In an RC circuit, the impedance Z is inversely dependent of frequency.

Phase angle vs. FrequencyIn general the phase angle for RC circuit is given by

•When the frequency f increases, the Xc become smaller and thus the phase angle

decreases. •As the frequency increases, XC decreases, Z decreases, and the phase angle θ

decreases. Each value of frequency can be visualized as forming a different impedance triangle.•In an RC circuit, the phase angle θ is inversely dependent of frequency.
