METHOD FOR ANALYSIS
Total -glucan content was determined using the enzymatic method of McCleary and Codd (1991).
The same procedure was carried out for the insoluble fraction of -glucan after extraction for 120 min with distilled water at 38°C.
The soluble fraction was calculated for difference (total minus insoluble -glucan), following the indications by Åman and Graham (1987).
