Yachay, la Ciudad del Conocimiento (city of knowledge), is an ambitious project in the province of Imbabura which calls for the creation of a city around education, research and innovative production. It covers a huge area of 4.200 hectares. Its population at the time of maturity which is meant to be 2045 is expected to reach 120.000.
IKIAM is a university of bio-knowledge and advanced research in the areas of Life Sciences, Earth Sciences founded in the Amazon meant to research and exploit the genetic wealth of the ecosystem. Sciences.
FLOK (which stands for “Free/Libre Open Knowledge”) proposes a fundamental disruption of society. FLOK’s reason-to-be is to create a legal, economic and social framework for an entire country (Ecuador) that is consistent with principles that are the basic foundations of the Internet: peer-to-peer collaboration and shared knowledge.
