Whole-yeast has Positive influence on health status of animalsinfection: Thirty years of research involving mannan oligosaccharides (MOS), which are provided in whole-yeast, have shown many fimbriated bacteria species readily bind with yeast surface MOS, thereby interfering with the infection process. Due to the pathogen binding effect of MOS, fewer patho-gens are available for intestinal colonization, resulting in lower infection rates (refer to #1 in Suggested Modes of Action). Pathogenic species that have shown possible binding include: E. coli, Salmonella, Proteus, and Klebsiella.

gut immunity: MOS and β-glucans provide conditioning for gut immunity. CitriStim is consistently high in MOS and β-glucan content. Research shows intestinal immune cells (Peyer’s Patches) are highly responsive to whole-yeast MOS and β-glucans. The result is elevated immune signaling and recruitment of macrophages and other immune cells to the intestine to counter anticipated pathogenic challenges (refer to #2 in Suggested Modes of Action).

ReseaRch-PRoven efficacy

• CitriStim has been extensively evaluated (ask for details).• Research has shown MOS will bind various fimbriated pathogens. CitriStim has

been shown to bind E. coli equal to or better than market-leading MOS and yeast products.

• Controlled research has been conducted with CitriStim in these production systems:

Neonatal animals- Dairy calves- Piglets - Chicks, ducklings, and turkey poults

Highly stressed animals- Receiving cattle- Heat stressed animals- Fescue toxicosis

High sensitivity production systems- Aquaculture

In VIVo PeRfoRmance

The impact of MOS on poultry has been reported extensively. Comparative trials of the effect of CitriStim versus a competitor MOS on gain, feed intake, and efficiency of nursery pigs (weaning to 60 lb) is noted in the accompanying graph. These trials demonstrate the higher efficacy of CitriStim.
