Study Title: Organizational culture and its relationship with administrational
creativity of the academic departments’ deans at Al- Imam Muhammad bin
Saud Islamic University.
The research submitted to: Al Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University,
Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Educational Administration and
Planning.
Academic year: 1432-1433 H
Study Objectives: 1-The objectives of the study is to identify the patterns of
organizational culture prevailing in the academic departments at Al-Imam
Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University from the perspective of faculty
members. 2- to identify the level of administrational creativity of the academic
departments’ deans at Al- Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University from
the perspective of faculty members. 3- to reveal the relationship between the
prevailing patterns of the organizational culture and the level of the academic
departments’ deans at Al- Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University. 4-and
to identify the statistical differences between the average of the members of the
study responses to the prevailing patterns of the organizational culture and the
level of the academic departments’ deans at Al- Imam Muhammad bin Saud
Islamic University attributed to some of the variables such as; (Academic Rank,
length of service at the university, and specialization).
Study Methodology: The researcher used in the current study, the analytical
descriptive method because it suits this type of study to describe the
phenomenon under study, analyze their data, and show the relationship between
its components.
Community study: the researcher used the comprehensive limit way because
the study community is small, which contains all members of the faculty at Al-
Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, who are (Professor, Associate
Professor, and Assistant Professor) and of their number (154) Members.
Study tools: The researcher used the questionnaire as a tool for collecting data,
which included (48) statements distributed on two axes: the organizational
culture, and administrational creativity.

Statistical treatments: the researcher used a set of statistical methods to process
the studying data. The most important are: frequencies, percentages, averages,
standard deviations, correlation coefficients, and resistance coefficients, analysis
variance test, (Scheffe test.
The most important results of the study:
1- All types of the prevailing organizational culture in the academic departments
at Al- Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University are high, and patterns
come in descending order according to the availability in the academic
departments as follows: the pattern of the human sympathy culture, followed by
the systems and roles culture, then the achievement culture, and finally the
culture of power.
2- The level of administrational creativity of the academic departments’ deans
at Al- Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University is high. The elements of
the administrational creativity come in descending order based on the
availability of the department dean as follows: the ability to analyze, originality,
renewal, fluency, sensitivity to problems, flexibility, and accept the risk.
3- There is a significant positive relationship at the level of significance (0.01 ≥
α) between the patterns of organizational culture and level of administrational
creativity, except for the pattern of the power culture.
4- There are statistical differences at the level of significance (0.05) or less
between the averages of the members of the study responses on the patterns of
organizational culture and the level of the administrational creativity with
different professional rank.
5- There are no statistical differences at the level of significance (0.05) or less
between the averages of the members of the study responses on the patterns of
organizational culture and the level of the administrational creativity in different
variables (length of service at the university, and specialization).
The most important recommendations of the study:
In light of the study results, the researcher presented a number of
recommendations including:
1- The senior leadership must take care of the university administration in the
concept of organizational culture in academic departments, and to take the
policies and procedures that raise the performance level of the employees.

2- To give the departments’ deans the authority that suit their responsibilities
through the independency in administrating and heading the female departments
and provide all the capabilities and support from the senior administration of the
university.
3- Expanding the training courses for the departments’ deans to help them to
keep pace with the renewable professional and functional requirements, and to
gain knowledge and skills about the methods of achieving administrational
creativity in work.
4- need to increase awareness organizational culture in general for the
departments’ deans , and to instill a positive organizational culture conducive
for creativity and achievement.
5- Provide opportunity for the departments’ deans to attend more conferences,
seminars and workshops of the leading creativity and development, and provide
all the ways to achieve this.
6- Making objective and accurate criteria to select the departments’ deans
containing management and leadership skills required to manage the
departments in a creative and special way.
