“GOD IS THE LORD”
to us. Blessed is he who comes in the name
of the Lord.
is good, for his mercy is for ever.

APOLYTIKION
compassionate One, and condescended to
be buried for three days, so that from the
passions You might set us free. Our life
and resurrection, O Lord, glory be to You.
Glory... For the Saint.
encouraged, you who have not been in
labor. For a man, greatly beloved of the
Spirit, has multiplied your children. He
planted them in godliness, he reared them
in self-control, and he raised them to
perfection in virtue. At his intercession, O
Christ our God, grant peace to our lives.

manifest to us on earth the mystery, which

When You, the Life of all, from the dead
resurrected,* a shining Angel cried to the
lamenting women,* “Cease from your
tears. Announce unto the Apostles the
tidings full of joy.* Cry out in exaltation,
that Christ the Lord has arisen from the
dead.* For He so willed to save the human
race, as God, in His good pleasure.”
Glory...
You commanded the venerable women* to
proclaim Your arising to the Apostles, as it
is written.* And Peter ran quickly and
came to the sepulcher.* And beholding the
light in the tomb, he was quite amazed.*
Also he observed that the grave clothes
were lying* alone in the sepulcher without
the divine body.* And believing he cried
aloud,* “Glory be to You, Christ God our
Savior, for You save all people,* inasmuch
as You are the Father’s radiance.”

endured crucifixion for our sake, who by
death took the spoils of death as plunder
and showed resurrection, being God, O
despise not the ones that You formed with
Your own hand. Demonstrate Your love
for man, O Lord of mercy, and accept Your
Mother, the Theotokos, who intercedes on
our behalf, O Savior, and save us a
despairing people.

Resurrection of all. Through them You
renew a right spirit in us, according to
Your great mercy.

creation, the orders of Angels and the
human race together. O hallowed temple
and rational Garden of Paradise, the pride
of virgins, from you did God become
incarnate, and our God who existed before
the ages became a child. For He made your
womb a throne for himself, and your body
He made wider than the heavens. In you,
O Lady full of grace, rejoices all creation.
Glory to you.
Lord, * who truly for us was born * of a
Virgin, O blessed Saint. * For of the tree of
knowledge you had eaten, O holy man. *
You became for monastics a teacher
inspired by God. * Therefore you
encouraged all your monks to be zealous *
about the angelic life * and to know well
the holy Faith, * O devout Euthymius. *

call you blest among women, for you alone
* gave birth in the flesh to God * without
seed as a virgin. * For the fire of Divinity *
truly dwelt inside of you; * and you nursed
as a babe the Creator and Lord of all. *
Therefore all the Angels and we humans
are joining * to glorify worthily * the all-
holy Son you bore, * and together we call
to you. * Intercede with Christ our God *
that He grant forgiveness of offences * to
those who faithfully honor your
immaculate childbirth.

You were accounted among the dead, they
all marveled. You, O Savior, are the One
who destroyed the might of death; and
when You arose You raised Adam with
yourself and from Hades liberated
everyone.

Thus the Angel who was shining in the
tomb cried to the myrrhbearing women.
See for yourselves the empty tomb and
understand, that the Savior has risen from
the sepulcher.

appeared to them and uttered, The time
for lamentation has ended; weep no more.

At that time, Jesus revealed himself to the
disciples after he was raised from the
dead. And he said to Simon Peter,"Simon,
son of Johnah, do you love me more than
these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you
know that I love you." He said to him,
"Feed my lambs." A second time he said
to him, "Simon, son of John, do you love
me?" He said to him,"Yes, Lord; you know
that I love you." He said to him, "Tend my
sheep." He said to him the third time,
"Simon, son of John, do you love me?"
Peter was grieved because he said to him
the third time, "Do you love me?" And he
said to him, "Lord, you know everything;
you know that I love you." Jesus said to
him, "Feed my sheep. Truly, truly, I say to
you, when you were young, you girded
yourself and walked where you would;
but when you are old, you will stretch out
your hands, and another will gird you
and carry you where you do not wish to
go." (This he said to show by what death
he was to glorify God.) And after this he
said to him, "Follow me." Peter turned
and saw following them the disciple
whom Jesus loved, who had lain close to
his breast at the supper and had said,
"Lord, who is it that is going to betray

said to him, "If it is my will that he
remain until I come, what is that to you?
Follow me!" The saying spread abroad
among the brethren that this disciple was
not to die; yet Jesus did not say to him

that he was not to die, but, "If it is my will
that he remain until I come, what is that
to you?" This is the disciple who is
bearing witness to these things, and who
has written these things; and we know
that his testimony is true. But there are
also many other things which Jesus did;
were every one of them to be written, I
suppose that the world itself could not
contain the books that would be written.

glorify. For You are our God, we know no
other but You, we call upon Your name.
Come all the faithful, let us worship the holy
Resurrection of Christ; for behold through the
Cross, joy has come in all the world. Ever
blessing the Lord, we extol His Resurrection.
For enduring the Cross for us, He destroyed
death by death.

1. Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your
great mercy; and according to the abundance of
Your compassion, blot out my transgression.
2. Wash me thoroughly from my lawlessness and
cleanse me from my sin
3. For I know my lawlessness, and my sin is
always before me.
4. Against You only have I sinned and done evil in
Your sight; that You may be justified in Your
words, and overcome when You are judged.
5. For behold, I was conceived in transgressions,
and in sins my mother bore me.
6. Behold, You love truth; You showed me the
unknown and secret things of Your wisdom.

8. You shall make me hear joy and gladness; my
bones that were humbled shall greatly rejoice.
9. Turn Your face from my sins, and blot out all
my transgressions.
10. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a
right spirit within me.
11. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and
do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
12. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and
uphold me with Your guiding Spirit.
13. I will teach transgressors Your ways, and the
ungodly shall turn back to You.
14. Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, the
God of my salvation, and my tongue shall
greatly rejoice in Your righteousness.
15. O Lord, You shall open my lips, and my
mouth will declare Your praise.
16. For if You desired sacrifice, I would give it;
You will not be pleased with whole burnt
offerings.
17. A sacrifice to God is a broken spirit, a broken
and humbled heart God will not despise.
18. Do good, O Lord, in Your good pleasure to
Zion, and let the walls of Jerusalem be built;
19. Then you will be pleased with a sacrifice of
righteousness, with offerings and whole burnt
offerings;
20. Then shall they offer young bulls on Your altar.
