Στα πλαίσια της συνεργασίας μεταξύ των Επιμελητηρίων και με την υποστήριξη του Συνδέσμου Ευρωπαϊκών Επιμελητηρίων – EUROCHAMBERS, θα φιλοξενηθεί στην Κύπρο μεταξύ 12 και 16 Ιουνίου 2016 επιχειρηματική αποστολή από την Ουκρανία.

Η αποστολή θα αποτελείται από επιχειρηματίες που δραστηριοποιούνται στον τομέα των γεωργικών και κτηνοτροφικών προϊόντων καθώς επίσης στον τομέα του τουρισμού και των κατασκευών.

Ο σκοπός της επίσκεψης της αποστολής είναι η πραγματοποίηση επαφών με κύπριους επιχειρηματίες, με σκοπό τη σύναψη συνεργασιών, καθώς και τη δημιουργία συνθηκών για περαιτέρω αναβάθμιση των εμπορικών σχέσεων μεταξύ των δύο χωρών.

Επισυνάπτεται ο κατάλογος με τα στοιχεία και την περιγραφή του προφίλ της κάθε εταιρείας που θα συμμετάσχει στην αποστολή.

Στο πρόγραμμα της επίσκεψης της Ουκρανικής αποστολής περιλαμβάνονται επισκέψεις και παρουσιάσεις των δραστηριοτήτων των Ουκρανικών εταιρειών στη Λευκωσία, Λάρνακα, Λεμεσό και Πάφο.

Στα ίδια πλαίσια περιλαμβάνονται και επιχειρηματικές συναντήσεις (B2B meetings). Όσοι ενδιαφέρονται να πραγματοποιήσουν συναντήσεις θα πρέπει να σημειώσουν σχετική ένδειξη στο κουτάκι δίπλα από την ονομασία των εταιρειών που θέλουν να έχουν συνάντηση καθώς και στο κουτάκι δίπλα από την πόλη που επιθυμούν οι συναντήσεις να πραγματοποιηθούν.

EU-Ukraine business cooperationopportunities

The Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement between The EU and Ukraine entered into force on 1 January 2016, as part of their broader Association Agreement (AA). The rest of the Association Agreement, containing political and cooperation provisions, has already been provisionally applied since November 2014.

Trade pictureThe EU is Ukraine’s largest trading partner, accounting for more than a third of its trade. It is also its main source of Foreign Direct Investment.Main Ukraine exports to the EU: raw materials (iron, steel, mining products, agricultural products), chemical products and machinery.Main EU exports to Ukraine: machinery and transport equipment, chemicals, and manufactured goods.Given Ukraine’s industrial potential, the DCFTA provides an opportunity to make the country more competitive and diversify its exports.

EU and UkraineThe AA/DCFTA aims at boosting bilateral trade in goods and services between the EU and Ukraine by progressively cutting tariffs and by aligning Ukraine’s rules with the EU’s in selected industrial sectors and for agricultural products.In the DCFTA Ukraine has committed itself to harmonize a large number of rules, norms and standards in a number of trade-related areas with those of the EU. These areas are competition, public procurement, trade facilitation, protection of intellectual property rights and trade-related energy aspects, including on investment, transit and transport.Since 1993 Ukraine has also benefitted from the EU’s Generalized System of Preferences (GSP). In 2013, more than 70% of Ukrainian exports to the EU of machinery and mechanical appliances, plants, oils, base metals, chemicals and textiles benefitted from GSP preferential tariffs.

According to the data provided by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, as of the 1st of April, 2015 the turnover of goods between Ukraine and Cyprus amounted USD 28,9 million. Particularly, the volume of export of goods from Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus reached USD 24,4 million or 23,4% comparing with the same period of 2014, while the level of import of goods from the Republic of Cyprus to Ukraine reached USD 4,5 million (34,3% comparing with the same period of 2014). The positive for Ukraine balance of trade in goods with the Republic of Cyprus reached USD 19,9 million.

According to the same data available, the volume of export of services from Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus reached USD 67,2 million as of the 1st of April, 2015 (58,7% comparing with the same period of 2014), while the import of services from the Republic of Cyprus to Ukraine reached USD 72,6 million (66,0%). The negative for Ukraine balance of trade in services with the Republic of Cyprus reached USD 5,4 million.

Investment Co-operationAs of the 1st of April, 2015 the Republic of Cyprus remained the leading investor of the development of the Ukrainian economy.

Particularly, according to the data provided by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the volume of FDI from Cyprus to Ukraine reached USD 11,7 billions or 28,5% out of foreign investments in total.

The level of Ukrainian FDI to Cyprus as of the same period of time reached USD 5,8 billions or 92,9% out of Ukrainian investment in total.In order to increase investments, the Ukrainian government has initiated reforms aimed at improving the investment climate in the country.

Donetsk CCI is a non-profit, a self-governing organization, which unites businesses of all types of ownership on voluntary basis. The DCCI unites 923 members (90% are SMEs).

The main partners of Donetsk CCI are legal entities and citizens of Ukraine registered as entrepreneurs, professional associations, government bodies, academic institutions and others.

Donetsk CCI has been working during past four years under the program of export support for entrepreneurs with focus on EU market. As a result we have experts certified by the Eurochambres (Belgium) and GIZ (Germany), we have practical experience of assistance of SMEs in the process of foreign trade activity.

Donetsk CCI actively works to develop export support “turn-key” services, trainings for SMEs on international trade issues (International Trade Skills School), digital resource for export support Export-ua.com. All these directions were developed under the East Invest project (2011-2014) and serve now as strong and sustainable basis for further work.

Donetsk CCI has 3 branches in the towns of the Donetsk region (Bachmut, Kramatorsk, Mariupol), three customs terminals (Kramatorsk, Slavyansk and Kostiantynivka). Donetsk CCI has on its board 129 employees, including the people who works in Donetsk CCI branches. In August 2014, due to the ATO (anti-terrorist operation) on Donbass we had to evacuate our organization to Kramatorsk, re-register there, and actively continue its activities on the territory controlled by Ukraine. 35 of Donetsk CCI staff members moved to Kramatorsk and left to work out of 170 people who worked in Donetsk.

The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) is operating as a Federation of the District Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the five major towns of Cyprus, Nicosia, Limassol, Famagusta, Larnaca and Paphos, which have jurisdiction in their respective towns and districts.

The Chamber is the organisation of the business people of Cyprus and apart from offering a wide range of services to them it promotes their interests and views to the Government and the Legislature.

The Chamber’s membership exceeds 8000 enterprises from the whole spectrum of business activity representing more than 95% of the business community of the country. More than 120 Professional Associations from the sectors of commerce, industry and services are also affiliated to the Chamber.

The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry is an independent Organisation operating as a Corporate body and is not enjoying any state or other subsidy. Its expenses are met from the members’ subscription fees and from charges for services rendered.

The CCCI is a recognised social partner in Cyprus and takes an active part in the Social Dialogue at national level while it also participates together with the trade unions and the Government in the various committees of tripartite

co-operation that exist and between them cover a wide range of economic and social issues such as the Advisory Economic Committee, the Advisory Committee on Commerce and Industry, the Advisory Labour Body, the Environment Council, e.t.c. Altogether the CCCI participates in more than 60 Committees, Councils and Organisations.

2. Aims and Objectives:The basic objectives of the CCCI are:· To offer optimum service to the members and promote their interests, within the framework of the overall interests of Cyprus and the advancement of the well being of the Cyprus people as a whole.· To safeguard and promote the free economic system of Cyprus, which has indisputably always contributed to the attainment of an enviable standard of living for the Cypriot people.· To follow-up closely the economic developments and maximise the contribution of the business community to the country’s progress.

3. Services provided:The main services offered by CCCI to its members include:· Advice on imports-exports, the industrial and services sectors.· Promotion of exports and assistance to Small and Medium Size Enterprises.· Collection and dissemination of business information (e.g. foreign markets, the European Union, international agreements, e.t.c).· Participation in foreign trade exhibitions and organisation of specialised trade exhibitions.· Organisation of Trade Missions abroad and reception of foreign trade missions to Cyprus.· Participation in international conferences.· Training courses and seminars on matters of special interest to members.· Professional examinations through its Examinations Board.· Up-to-date Library with information on trade and industry matters.· Link with international Data Banks of business interest.· Surveys and reports on economic matters.· Market research.· Specialised advice on costing and pricing. · Advice on taxation matters and incentives provided.

4. CCCI Having always been a strong supporter of Cyprus' European orientation, the Chamber has built excellent relations with the E.U. Commission with the aim of providing up-to-date information and advice to its members and the general public on E.U. affairs andalso to enhance the co-operation between Cypriot and E.U. business units. More specifically the CCCI has become the host of a number of E.U. services in Cyprus and it is not an exaggeration to say that it is the focal point of E.U. services to the businesscommunity of our country and to the public at large.

5. These services include inter-alia:In addition to maintaining and promoting bilateral relations with Chambers of Commerce and Industry on a global basis the CCCI is a full member and national representative in Cyprus of:

Through the Professional Associations the CCCI is represented in UFTAA, EUTRAPLAST, IUCAB, FIATA, CONFIAD, IFPWA, ISSA, EAAA.

The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry has a total of 38 highly qualified professionals as well as clerical personnel. Its services are fully computerised and it has an on-line connection with major Data Banks, through its international affiliations, for offering service at the minimum of time needed.

The offices of the CCCI are in a central area of Nicosia and are housed in its own modern building with full facilities for Conferences, Secretarial Services, Library, e.t.c.

On a smaller scale but of similar service is the operation of the district Chambers.

Involvement of the CCCI in Projects European Union Programmes:The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry has a long standing experience in participating in European Commission and other funded projects. It is the Chamber’s belief that such projects are an invaluable tool for acquiring experience and gaining access to sources of knowledge relevant to the interests of its member enterprises, be that of educational nature, training, research or hands-on experience, in fields ranging from e-commerce, gender equality, environmental management, cross-border business cooperation and so on. As such, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry participates in European Union funded programmes which include inter alia the Interreg programme, the MED and ENPI Programme, DG Justice projects, the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme, Erasmus+, as well as projects funded by the United Nations Development Programme ACT (Action for Cooperation and Trust in Cyprus).
