THANK YOU Lambda Kappa Sigma Xi Chapter would like to thank all of the families that continuously show their support for their students. Our sisters are what make LKS a strong, smart, and welcoming community, but we would not be here without your help. ΛΚΣ & ΚΨ Family Brunch LAMBDA KAPPA SIGMA XI CHAPTER UNIVERSITY OF RHODE ISLAND COLLEGE OF PHARMACY This year, Lambda Kappa Sigma Xi Chapter and Kappa Psi Beta Epsilon Chapter at the University of Rhode Island hosted a Family Brunch during Alumni and Family Weekend on October 21 st , 2017. We brought this event back from 2015, when it was first organized, in order to introduce our fraternities to the families of our younger members and interested/potential new members. This event was coordinated by our Social Media Committee (Chairs- Brianna Miller and Krysia Lesniak) in collaboration with Kappa Psi’s chair. We had a total of 120 members and their families in attendance on Saturday morning. During brunch, there was merchandise available for purchase and six raffle baskets available for participants to try their luck; all donated by LKS Xi Chapter, KY Beta Epsilon Chapter, local restaurants, and the supportive families of our members. Following brunch, we gave short presentations about our respective organizations and how we operate within the College of Pharmacy. President Paige Kennedy gave a short presentation about LKS’s international mission, influence, and philanthropy, Project HOPE. The presentation dove further into the anatomy of Xi Chapter’s executive and committee boards, the events put on throughout the year, and what goals our chapter specifically strives towards. All in all, our Family Brunch was a successful event and we are very thankful to all of the families that came to show their support for their students. It was a great chance to explain to our families what kind of organization their students are involved in and the opportunities, experiences, and professional development LKS can provide for our sisters. We had our sisters volunteer to assist during the Family Brunch. Lian Ngaopraseut (left, Community Service Co-Chair, President-Elect) and Kyra O’Connell (right, Fundraising Co-Chair) are pictured above selling merchandise! Pictured below, we have our LKS Raffle Basket filled to the brim with T-shirts, water bottles, and more!
