Electronic cigarette (e-cig) is used to supply nicotine to a user without the burning of tobacco leaves. Use of e-cigarette is often referred to as “vaping”

E-cigs are work through the production of vapor from a liquid which contains nicotine and other components.

Generally, a battery-powered heating coil heats the liquid contained in a cartridge to form the vapor and this is then inhaled by the user. The liquid is mainly made-up of water, propylene-glycol and glycerine

An estimated 6.1 and 9.2 million EU citizens had quit and reduced smoking with the use of e-cigarettes respectively.

 The prevalence of current daily and current daily nicotine-containing EC use was 1.08% and 1.00%, respectively, and was mainly observed in current and former smokers.

PM includes various heavy metals, as well as semiquinones and polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) that may potentially harm DNA through free radical formation
