ITH Torque-Angle Electric Nut Runner, Version α “alpha”

ITH Documentation System

An even more accurate tightening process, the rotation-angle controlled method is available through the EDS version α. Here, pre-torque is applied until the specified value is reached (trigger torque value). When the pre-torque value is reached, this automa-

tically triggers the EDSα to begin the rotationangle method. The bolting process is completed once the nut is rotated to the previously entered angle. System accuracy is dependent on bolt length ratio of at least lk/d > 1.5 by the bolt. (lk = clamping length, d = bolt diameter).

The ITH-Documentation System allows for easy, digital manage-ment of all custom data asso- ciated with the tightening process including bolt size, bolt quality, torque or

application values, and bolt and personnel identification numbers. The application data can be preset via the ITH software on a PC and saved to a SD-card. The SD-card is plugged into a control box at the ITH Nut Runner. By its user-friendly design, the ITH-documentation software offers easy control and evaluation of the tightening process.

ITH EDS: Electric Nut Runner

Functions• Comprehensive control electronic: The EDS maintains con-

tinuous control of the tightening process and automatically adjusts the rotational speed according to the application

• Automatic free-run: Once the previously set torque value has been reached the EDS automatically initiates “free-run”, relieving torsional binding at the reaction point for easy and safe removal of the tool after each bolting process

• Suitable for on-site construction: The powerful motor is made to withstand the drastic voltage fluctuations common with using on-site generator power supplies

• Optimal for international machine outfits: Automatic detection and adjustment to 50 Hz or 60 Hz power supplies
