The present study is a study of the bioclimate principles of the Cypriot traditional

architecture and of the other examples since ancient time. It describes the way that these

principles can be transferred to the contemporary architectural base of the present

regulations, needs and shapes. Todays buildings that surround us are not related to the

traditional ones, not only in their shape but bioclimatically in relation to the meditterranean

climate that Cyprus has. They are not constructed based on the location, the orientation

and the materials that our land offers.
