ΜΑΡΤΖΕΛΟΥ Καθηγητή ΑΠΘ Η ΘΕΟΛΟΓΙΚΗ ΣΧΟΛΗ ΤΗΣ ΘΕΣΣΑΛΟΝΙΚΗΣ ΚΑΙ Ο ΙΕΡΟΣ ΑΥΓΟΥΣΤΙΝΟΣ Εισαγωγή Είναι γνωστό ότι ο ιερός Αυγουστίνος μέσα στην προσπάθειά του να αντιμετωπίσει τις διάφορες αιρέσεις της εποχής του, και κυρίως τον Αρειανισμό και τον Πελαγιανισμό, περιέπεσε σε κάποιες δογματικές αστοχίες, όπως η διδασκαλία του για το Filioque 1 ή και εκείνη για τον απόλυτο προορισμό 2 . Το γεγονός αυτό δεν είναι αξιοπερίεργο ούτε μοναδικό στην ιστορία της Εκκλησίας, γιατί παρόμοιο φαινόμενο έχουμε και στην Ανατολή με τον άγ. Γρηγόριο Νύσσης, ο οποίος διατύπωσε επίσης κάποιες διδασκαλίες, όπως οι διδασκαλίες του για το καθαρτήριο πυρ και την αποκατάσταση των πάντων, που δεν έγιναν αποδεκτές από την Εκκλησία. Ωστόσο, όπως κανείς από τους ορθοδόξους θεολόγους δεν διανοήθηκε ποτέ να αμφισβητήσει το κύρος και τη θεολογική σπουδαιότητα του αγ. Γρηγορίου Νύσσης, έτσι και κανείς ορθόδοξος θεολόγος μέχρι και την εποχή μας δεν τόλμησε να θέσει σε αμφισβήτηση το κύρος και τη σημασία της θεολογίας του ιερού Αυγουστίνου για τη θεολογική σκέψη της αρχαίας και αδιαίρετης Εκκλησίας, πλην μιας και μοναδικής εξαιρέσεως, του αείμνηστου καθηγητή της Θεολογικής Σχολής της Θεσσαλονίκης π.
