SUMMARY
The present essay researches the legal frame existing in Greece regarding the
attraction of maritime companies. Goal of the essay was the collection of all the
legislative efforts of the Greek state in order to attract in Greece all the maritime
companies, mainly of Greek interest, which were seated in the major maritime
clusters of the world (London, New York), resulting that the Greek state did not take
any advantage of the huge potential of the Greek Maritime. This essay presents a
thorough analysis of all the legislation applied in Greece, of all the problems that
appeared during the application of this legislation and also presents the results of this
specific policy. Ending, solutions are suggested in order the Greek state to attract
again the maritime companies and to make Piraeus again a major maritime cluster.
