He wasthe author of two dozen books on politics, philosophy, history, and urban affairsas well as ecology.Bookchin was an anti-capitalist and vocal advocate of thedecentralisation of society. His writings on libertarian municipalism, a theory offace-to-face, grassroots democracy, had an influence on the Green Movementand anti-capitalist direct action groups such as Reclaim the Streets. He was astaunch critic of biocentric philosophies such as deep ecology and thebiologically deterministic beliefs of sociobiology, and his criticisms of newage Greens such as Charlene Spretnak contributed to the divisions that affectedthe American Green movement in the 1990s.: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murray_Bookchin 19. , , ( 1996:131).
