that He may

you peace,

With

this latter,

we

would like

to

inform

you

that

we

have

not

received

your letter

dated

fune

of the current

year

yet.

We have learnt

its

content

from

the internet,

and

by

reason

of

this

delay we

only

now

send you

our

answer.

Your

All-Holiness,

we

bring

it

to

your

attention

that

we will

not

be

able

fulfilt

your request

and

this

decision

is

based

on the provisions

of

the Holy

Synod

of Georgia

dated 10

]une.

These

provisions

were

sent to

you

and

to

the

primates

of

the

other

local

churches. In

them

were

noted

all

those

concrete

reasons

which

became

the

preconditions

for

our

nonpresence.

Therefore

it

is

not

right

to

shift

the

absence

of the

delegation

of

the Church

of

Georgia

to the political

or

any

other

dimension.

We

also remark

here

that

despite

our

absence,

we follow

the procedure

of

the

sessions

and

we

hope

that, with

God's

grace,

their

final

results

will

be acceptable

for

the

fullness

of

the

Church.

However,

here

we

would

like

to remind

you

that the

Church

of Georgia

has

not

signed

the

document

"The

Sacrament

of

Marriage

and

Its

Impediments",

and

we

consider

it inadmissible

to

alter

the

dogmatic

prohibition

stipulated

in

the

canon 72

of Ecumenical

Council

VI and

the

same

is

our

attitude

towards

the

admittance

of

the non-Orthodox

in

the sacraments

of

the Church

bv

the

decree

of

the Council.

The

mentioned

document

was

denounced

by the

Holy Synod

of

the Church

of

Georgia

back

at

rhe

session

of

8

October

1998, and

now

on

the

25d of

May

2016. We

did

not

sign

it at

the

assembly

of the

primatds

of

the

Orthodox

churches

either.

And

if anybody

makes

claims

to

our

signing

of

the

Chambesy

issues, we

remind them

that it

was signed

prior

to

the

fact

when this

document

was

put

forth

at

the

session

for discussion,

and

we

hoped

that

unanimous

position

would

be taken

in

this

respect, but

the

result was

not

such.

Regrettably,

neither the

talks

in

Fanar ended

with

preferable

results

(in

the

April

of

the current

year),

when

the delegation

of

the

Church

of

Georgia

was, on

your

invitation,

present

with

the

purpose

of achieving

consensus

on

this

issue, and as

it was

not

attained,

they

reiterated their

demand

to

remove the

mentioned

issue

from the

agenda.

Now also,

we once again

ask

you

not to

put

the

document

"The

Sacrament

of

Marriage

and

Its

Impediments"

in

the

agenda

for the

discussion since

it

was

not

accepted

by

consensus

and

neither the Church

of

Antioch

signed

it.

We

would

also

remind

you

that

we

have declared

at

the

assembly

in

Chambesy

in

2016

that

the

documents

ratified

there

was

to

be

presented

to

the

Holy

Synod

of

Georgia

after being

publicized

with

the

purpose of working

out the

final

position

towards

it.

The

session

of

the

Holy Synod convened

on

the

25d

of

May

established

the

following:

a)

The document

"The

Attitude

of

the

Orthodox

Church

towards

the

Rest of

the Christian

World" contains

serious

ecclesiological

and terminological

errors

and

requires solid

alterations.

Otherwise, the

Church of

Georgia

will consider

it

unacceptable.

b)

The document

"The

Mission

of

the Orthodox

Church

in the

Contemporary

World"

also

requires alterations

(exact

places

in

the

text were

indicated).

c)

We have discussed

the

document

of

marriage above.

the emergence

problems

within the

bosom

Church

curb
